This is not like the people who just want to take Kucherov in the first round and call it a good move. These moves were actually what logically should have happened. Again: if x has the 10th pick, they would not have taken the 50th ranked player in the draft (even if that 50th ranked player became a beast in hindsight) However, if a person with the 10th pick took the 11th projected player, and I think they should have taken the 10th, that is good. READ ALL OF THE DESCRIPTIONS BEFORE COMMENTING:
2015:
Barzal > Senyshyn : After taking and sniper and a defenseman (debrusk and zboril who were the best projected guys at their point in the draft) (Yes zboril and chabot were even, and the bruins liked zboril), the bruins best bet was to take the best player left on the board, being Barzal. They were nervous about his previous injury, but consiering this was their third pick in a row, I saw no reason for them not to take that risk and draft Barzal who had dropped out of the top 10 because of his injury.
2016:
Debrincat > Fredrick : Freddy was projected to go in at least the 2nd round (at 47 on the US scouting, that means European player and goalies before him too). Debrincat was a C/RW who was a great but small sniping player and was ranked 21st in the US rankings (end of the 1st round, beginning of the 2nd). Bruins had no reason to choose Fredrick here considering they could have taken him less than a round later.
Thats It! I was gonna do as many as I could, but then I realized that the bruins have done a pretty good job drafting their needs and the best players, Now while some players have unfortunately developed worse than others, this doesnt mean the bruins should have drafted differently.
AGAIN: DO NOT comment "hindsight is 20/20", the point of this post was to show that there are only two mistakes the bruins made, and they would have both been solved with foresight, not hindsight. I explained both of them, so if you comment that, I will just tell you to read this :)
Lastly, as the two first comments said, and I forgot to mention: obviously if they had Debrincat and Barzal, they wouldnt have traded for Kase or Ritchie and might not have even traded for Coyle (Who knows!?) So like these are ALL still to be taken with a grain of salt. But I could do that too: In fact I will. The last edits will be made: thank you to the two guys who commented!
Last Edits:
With Debrincat, bruins wouldnt have needed to trade for Kase.
I still say they would have gotten rid of hienen for ritchie because that was independent of their RW need.
I thought about Coyle too, as that trade was looking for a C/RW that was established, but I think they gave up Donato anyway so the goal was probably just to accquire a big man with skill.
Lastly, they would have traded Moore away to make sure they have space in the summer for the RFA's. They probably will anyway.
Ok so the value on Backes' deal was a 1st rounder meaning Kase was essentially one for one for Anderson. Some will say he was worth more, some will say Backes' deal was worth more, so this is the perfect middle
If not Coyle, Krejci would be gone, due to his cap hit.
Barzal was the miss.
They knew Frederic was a bottom-6 guy and that's what they wanted, wonder why at this position but too bad
Again I agree, they wouldnt have needed to trade for Kase either so him too.
But yes they liked him, but a good GM would have seen him at 47 (which is where their pick was), they should have known he would still be around in the 2nd round
You cant do 2 years of redrafts and just ignore the fact that Pasta doesnt at least go top 5 in 2014.
at that rate, boston isnt getting barzal in 2015 and isnt getting debrincat in 2016 then. like who cares. it didnt happen, and we cant go back in time and be like yoooo you need to not do that.

Im saying if the bruins chose right.
MORE IMPORTANTLY: If you do the research, Pasta was projected to go 22nd overall, and the only team going for a winger around that time was PIT who took Kapanen (11th overall projection what a steal) so you are also completely wrong!
Im sorry dude, please do your research first
"Oh ****, Boston could get Barzal, Connor and Kylington here"
etc etc etc
READ THE DESCRIPTION. You are wrong and dont look good to others right now
Notice how I didnt mention Connor and Kucherov? oh wait you didnt because you didnt even care to read the important part of this post, the description.
Dont comment until you have done your research.

Lol man i dont know about the joke, but unfortunately there are too many people who comment that without reading my description. Or worse: people who do exactly what you said which is redraft every good player in the league and they are like "ha if i was GM i woulda won 10 cups".
The reason this post is good and not like those is that it uses foresight, not hindsight. I explain why each move is logically made.
Sorry i dont get the joke, but also not the post for it: there are enough out there that deserve that comment though dont woryy lol
i was replying to the other guy for saying you had to get rid of pasta... if you were to get rid of pasta under the assumption hes a top 5 pick... so are barzal and debrincat, so neither would be available.
