Description
So apparently Dylan Strome is available and I think he would fit well between Laine and Ehlers as a second line Center. I really like Roslovic but I’m willing to give him up if it means we get Strome. You could say Strome is better then roslovic but Stan Bowman also said he would be pretty cheap. For the UFA’s, I think Edmundson is a good, Manitoba born 2nd pairing defencemen to play with pionk. Ville Heinola needs a good smart veteran defencemen to learn from. Braun gives us that and some needed experience. Dell has been a little inconsistent but would still work as a solid backup. Dumba had a bit of a down year but I think he’s still a good first pairing defencemen. Niku’s good and has potential but we’re probably gonna have to give up a good prospect to improve the defence if we want to contend.

I mean Strome was a 55 point pace player this year with his 2 most common linemates being Debrincat and Kane
Roslovic was a 33 point pace player this year with his 2 most common linemates being Ehlers and Wheeler.

These 2 don't seem particularly in the same ballpark, especially considering that Strome *actually* plays C.

Also the Niku trade is funny.

Yeah but Kane and DeBrincat are better then Wheeler and Ehlers and Roslovic spent time on the 3rd line too. And yeah I’m realizing I’m pretty off on that Niku trade. Maybe had another prospect and late pick

Better? I’m not putting any 2020 picks in because this would be after the draft

Strome for Roslovic 1 for 1 would not happen. I'm a huge fan of Roslovic but jets definitely need to add.

Tbh they're pretty close. I'd prob give the slight edge to Ehlers/Wheeler. Kane's defense is atrocious.

But yeah Roslovic isn't close to Strome, you might need to add like a 2nd or something. And Niku is just not a premium prospect anymore, he had a really poor NHL showing. Dumba is just aiming too high. But you could craft something up for the next tier down like Colin Miller or Jake Gardiner or something.

If the Wild trade Dumba we have to be getting a top 6 center back, and the only one the Jets have (Scheifele), they aren't moving and certainly not for Dumba.

The NSH trade is intriguing -- but I feel like Tolvanen was really turning a corner towards the end of the season and was starting to put his game together. By all accounts, he was on/off most of the year, inconsistent - but even then, he still scored 21 goals in 63. Not groundbreaking, but definitely something that could be a sign of things to come. I like Vesalainen's size and skill, but I don't think I'm quite ready to give up on Tolvanen.

Not exactly sure if Chevy would have his division rivals phone numbers, and if so the asks are going to be high, nobody wants to be burnt, but especially within division. Might need a third team. Strome would be intriguing, would be nice to fill that 2 c can’t seem to fill it from within.

I like the majority of how the team looks. I highly doubt the cap is that high at the start of the season, however.
I feel like anyone would have to pay a lot for Dumba (and he's a top 4 D, so of course MIN should want a bunch), but I don't think he should be the Jets target. They'd probably have to overpay even more to get him from a division rival. I'd just try to re-sign DeMelo, he's fit in real well with Morrissey.
I really don't think Niku will ever get a fair shot from PoMo, he just always seems to find a reason not to play him (injuries haven't helped this year, but in general). I feel that finding a way to trade him would be a wise move for Chevy. His stock has definitely dropped though from a year or two ago.
I actually really like the idea of Strome on that second pair. Jets would have to add in this trade no doubt, but the idea of him being in that 2C position is intriguing.
I'd also just rather keep Poolman than get Braun. Plus I don't think Braun takes that big of a pay cut to play 3rd pairing minutes. I think when Poolman needs an extension, you could get him around that $2M range and not give up a pick. Braun is probably better, but for the price and with Poolman signed, I think they should just keep him.
I also like the idea of Edmundson, Dillon could work too. It gives Samberg/Heinola a chance to grow and not have all the pressure of an NHL top 4 role right away. He may be exposed to SEA, but that's the reality with an expansion team.
I'm not sure if NSH does that trade, mostly because it's in division. Jets would welcome it though, I feel like. But who knows.
Dell is a good signing too. I'd still be pleased if LB came back, but Dell would be a solid back-up.
I would hope there's enough money to give Laine/Pionk/Copp some raises. I don't know if Perreault/Lowry off the books is enough space. I guess Seattle taking someone would help with that.
Well done though!
