If Oilers are taking a worse contract back, 5 million for 13 goals. You are not getting Pool party as well.

Agree, this isn't going to happen. A straight trade (Bozak for Russell) will save the Blues $2.75M cash and $1M cap space.

Exactly. Russell is 32 million overpaid and Bozak is 3 million over paid. But both can help the other team out.

Wait, let me get this straight. Are you actually declaring that Bozak is a worse value contract that Russell? I must be reading that wrong, as Bozak (overpaid though he may be) is obviously far and away the better bang for buck contributor. Like... it's not close. His contributions extend far beyond the number of goals he has.

Never said that, I said Bozak has a worse contract. Russell is 2 million over paid, Bozak is 3 million over paid. But you should decline this trade and definitely keep him due to his contributions besides his goals.
5 million for a 3rd line center is Yikes. 4 million for a 3rd pair D is also Yikes

Well you did kinda say that because if Bozak is 3M overpaid and Russell is 2M overpaid, then you're effctively saying they are both worth the same salary while costing more. And then you said it again just now, but explicitly.

But yeah, anyway, disagree. Bozak is certainly worth well more than 2M per year, and worth more than Russell relative to salary. Even so, I didn't actually say that I'd reject the deal.

They already have 4 better centers: O'Reilly, Schenn, Thomas and Sundqvist.
