Don't think SJS has to add anything to move Karlsson. They'd get something good for him. MAYBE have to eat a little but the return would still be real good.

Oilers decline, we dont want that trouble in the locker room. We already got Kassian for that stupid stuff

That Ottawa deal is awful. Not nearly enough for Tierney

Then trade him away. You add 30 goal to the top 6 and trade him

I saw a trade the other day him go for a 3rd and average prospect. Maybe if we add a prospect would this be fair.

Karlsson is still owed roughly $80500000. Given that information do you think a late 2nd round pick is enough compensation to get a team owner to pay that to a player to not play?

It cost the Leafs a 1st to move 4 million in Salary. Considering a Karlsson buyout will cost about 65 million, that comes out to roughly 16 1st round picks.
While I am aware that that would and could never happen, you are right that a 2nd is not enough lol.

if san jose retains 3.5 million of that cap toronto would possibly be interested. Cause man karlsson and Rielly as a pairing could be intriguing. But I just dont see it happening

It's probably more like a 2nd +a pick or prospect. He's a good 3rd line center with above average offensive production for the role, and he's an incredible penalty killer, playing aggressively leading to an insane number of short handed chances.

Oilers would only say yes if you retain at least 2 mil of his salary

Is Vlasic still effective? What contract do you think he'd get if he was bought out by SJ?
