What should him and those 12 big goals, 22 points get. Even Chaisson out produced him and Chaisson is over payed?

What a bad argument. Haula played 48 games compared to 65 for Chiasson.

Erik Haula's rate of production over the last three years has him hovering around 50points per 82 games played. He's firmly in top 6 production territory while being a 3rd line Center. His camp is coming in pointing at the contracts for guys like Tyler Bozak or Jean Gabriel Pageau. I think he gets less due to his injury troubles, but that's the point of reference for his camp.

Good luck him getting 5 million a year with his 40 points when the cap is possible staying or going down. Bad reference as those 2 guys are over paid as well.

Yeah they are overpaid. That doesn't mean his agent isn't going to start there for negotiations. It's not an agent's job to make sure his players are paid "fairly" it's their job to get as much money as possible.

Thanks for explaining how the agent works. I know Meehan quite well do to what business I was in. But thanks.

Montreal wouldn’t pick Chiasson if he where on waivers.
He is terribly slow wouldn’t be able to keep the pace with the speedy forward Montreal have. Dallas, Washington, St-louis would be more a fit but i doubt they want to spend money on Chiasson.

Chiassion is on the Oilers' 1st powerplay unit. Last time I checked, that unit is the best in the League. He is unreal at screening and confusing goalies. Before talk of the CBO, I would have considered trading him for cap space, but Chiasson is a cheaper James Neal. Oilers need one or the other. Since Neal frees up more cap space, probably it makes sense to buy him out and keep Chiasser.

Yes I was reluctant to get rid of Chaisson because of his playoff hockey experience and durability, That first round of playoffs is big boy hockey and guys like him are good than. But we also have Kassian. But I fear we are getting to small and dont bring the right playoff chemistry AKA Tampa, who brought in Maroon. That was a good add for them.

EW has Haula getting 4.3M x 4yrs next year, I would bet Florida and Buffalo easily top your offer

Again Montreal wouldn’t pick him off the waivers, he doesn’t fit with the team system. I am glad that you want to keep him that much but the matter of fact he was included in a super bad trade for Montreal so i pointed it out.

Didnt they also say Brodin 10 million by 8 years?
As far as Russell, I am sure somebody will take him for 2 million bucks only. I picked flames because they loved him in the locker room and also he has a farm in Caroline.

They say a lot of things, but last year their numbers were fairly accurate Here are their numbers from last year. It all depends on the term given, you can scroll to the right to see the variation in term

That was also at 3 years, at 2 year's they have him at 2.5M. I usually take their numbers and lower it a little. Also pay attention to the length %, if it says 44% for 4 years and 12% for 1 year you can bet that player is most likely not taking a 1 year deal

I would get rid of someone like khaira rather than chaisson as stats have shown that Chiasson is more effective in pp than neal and he can play some pk unlike neal

I agree but for some reason the coach likes Khaira. He is the worst 5 on 5

Isn't Khaira a great PKer though? That was another thing the Oilers did right this season that I don't want to mess with.

He is but his 5 on 5 play override the PK. I dont have the stats on it, but there is quite a gap

He was probably edmonton 4 or 5th best penalty killer but his 5 on 5 play negates what he does the pk and on top of that he's slower than a elephant. By taking him off the pk, the impact is minimum

I never understood why tippet would bench benson over khaira when clearly benson is the better player
