Eh... I mean I prefer Dillon too but he's likely asking for 3-4 years where as Edmundson is a number 4-5 d-man so he'll probably as for 2 years. Plus Dillon will likely be asking for more. K'Andre Miller and Matthew Robertson are studs on the Ld blueline. They'll have to play sooner or later

It's not. Strome has been very good only because of Panarin. This isn't the same as saying that Strome is bad without Panarin but seriously without him he's a 3rd liner with a bit of top 6 upside. Stastny easily replaces that. Plus Krebs is a stud and we get a pick so...

I’d say value is even but I wouldn’t do it. I like Krebs lots but I think we should keep ADA and get rid of strome (only)

I just think people thinking they’ll get value of a #1D for Deangelo are way overvaluing him. He’s a #3 guy.

He's a role player. If you want him to play good defense, you got the wrong guy. That being said, he's a solid PP quarterback

....right but you don't have to move Deangelo to fix any of that.

There's no problem with trading Strome. But you're massively undervaluing Deangelo who basically has Roman Josi value if you're doing this right...Played league average defense and was a top scorer in the league while dragging around Marc Staal. It's almost impossible to convey how impressive that is, and you're dealing him for a prospect.

If you're dealing Deangelo you need a top line player coming back end of story - if not then just keep him.

But you're not wrong, deal Strome. His value is high, a lot higher around the league than this website.

Might as well deal Trouba too if you're going to keep Deangelo. Between those 2 you should be able to take care of your middle 6 entirely.

Woah boy Roman Josi value??? Look I love ADA and what he's done for us, but you're talking about a top 5 d-man in the entire league who has basically carried his team so far this season

Yeah Roman Josi value.

Here's an easy way of thinking about this:

Screen-Shot-2020-04-07-at-12-13-03-AM

Josi seems clearly better right?

Now consider that Deangelo spent 50% of his ice time with Marc Staal while Josi spent 57% of his ice time with Ryan Ellis, about the same...how does that grade out?

Screen-Shot-2020-04-07-at-12-13-51-AM

Heck, seeing that you might think that Deangelo is a younger, cheaper (thus more valuable) version of Josi and you'd be correct.

Quality of Teammates is one of the biggest factors in player performance, more than 3x that of quality of competition

Dude ADA isn't really good at defending, I can change the deal a bit but he's NOT in the top 5, let alone top 10 in the league

Neither is Josi. Josi is a league average defender and an Elite offensive defenseman.

Evolving Wild. These are RAPM graphs. They account for Quality of Competition, Score, etc. The only thing they don't account for is teammates because that's really hard to do.

You see where the issue is. He’s comparing ADA to Josi and expecting to get a monster package in a return for him. Josi is a top 15 dman. ADA wouldn’t be the #1D on any contending team. Maybe not even the 2nd. He’d be more of a great #3 so expecting too much in a trade isn’t it. Krebs was the 17th overall I think and you get a 2nd rounder. That’s pretty good. Krebs was also supposed to go much higher

I mean they’re getting a great prospect in Krebs, probably an upgrade on Strome??? And a second. Makes sense for Vegas too as Glass can take over the 2C role and they shed Stasney.
