To much for Miheyev. Sign him for one year cause I don't want him to be Zaitsev

I think you’ve got a really good defense. I would play Roy though.

Massive over payment for DeMelo who Leafs do not need and not a chance Dermott and Holl will be traded.

why not? A young RHD who is about equal to Dermott and is much cheaper is worth it. And you could keep Holl, but you'd hinder the growth of liljegren. He's a third pairing guy, so don't tell me next that he could take demelo's spot. Also the leafs do need a player like demelo to fill out the right side of the top 4. Doesn't have to be him necessarily, but I think he'd be a good fit

DeMelo signing is fine.....I hope they get him to.....have been doing $3,il for 3 years but if we can sign him longer would pay more....he is a RD that played over 20 minutes a night in Ottawa, against other teams top players and was a steady player to have with young Chabot...he's not flashy and Rielly needs someone that can stay in his zone and play more defensely….don't know much about Mayfield though ….Holl looked like he was playing fine with Muzzin that way Liljegren stays in lineup....also dunno much of Matt Roy ….only other thing I would like to see done is send Kerfoot or something to Florida for Lucas Walmark as a 3rd or 4th line centre

even if he plays like zaitsev 1.5 for 2 years is fine especially since Seattle can take him if he under performs

I like kerfoot. Can play 3c or be a top 6 winger. Did well playing with Tavares and Willy, but is also a good 3c option

I'd let him and liljegren rotate, especially at the start of the season, and let the best man win. I just think it'll be liljegren

Realistically, Mickheyev might be a really good offer sheet. 3 x 4yrs might just be a little too much for Leafs cap. He is good and will only get better. Compensation is a second round pick.

I think that the Islanders would be more interested in Kapanen than Johnsson, who is now damaged goods.

Roy for Dermott is a lateral move, and Roy is penciled in as #3 RD in the Kings backcourt, so I don't see them making that trade, especially if they have to give up a pick.

Holl for a fourth is fine, but Anaheim has no need for yet another LW. (The once-mighty Ducks already have lefties Dan Heinen, Sonny Milano, Max Jones, Maxime Comtois, Nic DesLauriers and righty Rickard Rakell there, plus Braden Tracey waiting for his shot.)

agreed but idk if he leaves. he's been treated very well here. Dubas literally stayed with him in the NJ hospital for days when he sliced his wrist open on Bratt's skate. Not saying he absolutely won't go chase more money, but he'd feel pretty comfortable here

I can see why people think Johnsson is damaged goods as he is shopped around here a lot, but he's not shopped because he's bad, its just because kapanen is better and provides an edgy game that the leafs can't afford to lose, and kerfoot plays 3C, which we need. Maybe this deal has to wait until the TDL when he can re-prove himself again, but I don't think he's nearly as damaged as people think.

That may be true, but the Islanders are going to be looking for offense in the off-season, not waiting until the trade deadline.

ya but he does not do enough to be on top 2 lines and is making to much as a 3C in my opinion....we don't wanna be as stuck to the cap

So you want to trade Dermott who is actually a better defenceman than DeMelo and only will cost may $2,000,000 per year for the next 2 season for an over-rated DeMelo at $3,500,000 for 4 years. Do not like this move as makes no sense.

Dermott is slightly better offensively, but demelo is a rock defensively, which is what we need. Maybe you can get demelo for 500k-750k cheaper, but there will be many suitors at that price for him. Dermott also isn't a right shot, and we need that, but have depth at LD (Rielly, Muzzin, Sandin), all of whom are better than Dermott

I find that the 3C position is actually quite overlooked by many fans. If you look at recent cup teams, they have all had solid #3 centres, and none of them made less than 3mil. Bonino (PIT), Eller (WSH) and Bozak (STL) were all very solid 3C's and underspending at that position might bite us. If you fill that hole with someone better, then by all means do it, but the leafs don't have anyone competent enough to replace him.

We are moving Dermott to play first pairing defence with Rielly and mark my words.

Other teams might have guys making more than 3mil....but I bet these teams you are talking about aren't spending almost 4o mil on 4 other players....Walmark could easily fill the role of 3rd line centre for a smaller cap hit allowing the leafs to carry an extra guy or at least not have to place extreme game of musical chairs when someone gets hurt
