Well Im not sure what Chicago is asking for but im sure they aren't asking for Perreault and a 4th rounder..... They'll want good picks and prospects or young ready now talent. Still going to be decently expensive. Also Strome hasn't exactly lit it up so far in his career. He had one good year and he isn't that much younger than Domi. The price will be slightly more for Domi but you are also getting the more complete player with a better track record.

What if the Habs used some of the pieces in the trade above to get a top 4 dman afterwards? Why does it have to be Domi straight for a top 4 dman only?

I'd do it but I'd want something better then Weal and a 4th, I get that Perreault is considered a cap dump but is he really, if he is he's still a pretty useful player and as much as I hate Lowry and want him gone GM's would probably value him quite a bit so there's that to consider too, Weal and a 4th do absolutely nothing for me as a Jets fan.

Well lest be honest, Perreault doesn't do anything for anyone either. Im trying to mitigate the value so that its as close to as even as possible without going over. Perreault doesn't have to be there and neither does Weal. Domi and a 4th for Lowry, Veselainen, 1st 2020?

Yeah That's the hard part. In my head, Im assuming they don't win the lottery and end up being anywhere 12th to 18th ish. Either where they are right now based on P% or if they were allowed to make the playoffs and went out in the first round ish.

Domi for the 2020 1st, Vesalainen and Perreault seems fair to me, don't see why Lowry, Weal and the 4th are in there.

Lowry was a late addition because I feel the Habs could use him, he's not essential, more just an added player we could sue to I tried to expand the deal a little. I added Weal as a warm body for depth since you are losing multiple players and a 4th to bridge the value gap in my mind.

As a jets fan I would say no. Domi's value is so difficult to predict IMO. Is he worth that? WHat is he gonna sign for 6 plus long term? Does he fit with Laine and Ehlers?
Honestly if Im the jets I try and get Stastny out of Vegas to play with Laine and Ehlers, maybe resign him if Roslovic hasn't developed into that 2C
