Roslovic is a bottom 6 guy and not that enticing. Hawks are loaded with defensive prospects, unless they are a top line candidate, which Stanley is not. Normally I'd say he's interesting given his size but the Hawks just drafted Vlasic who's similar type of player and size. The 1st round pick, especially top 10 protected, simply doesn't make up for a big downgrade in Roslovic and certainly a 3rd isn't going with Strome for this.

What's your ideal return from WPG. It's AGM, we (can.... should...) counter offer.

Hawks need a top 6 winger or draft picks this year. We don't need defensive players again unless they are top line guys or prospects to be top line guys.

    How about Vesa and a 2020 2nd?

A 23 year old 2C for a 21 year old prospect who's a .5ppg winger in the AHL and a gamble on a 2nd round pick won't cut it. A 1st and Vesalainen would make more sense.

i guess if the first had some form of protection on it there could be a deal formed there

Pretty sure the 2020 1st isn't going to be a lottery pick, pending decisions by the NHL on how they handle this.

Would be next year's 1st in a trade such as this. Don't see WPG gambling with this year.

Chicago probably walks away then. Hawks have a bigger need for draft assets this draft and they aren't giving up a 23 year old 2C for sitting back another year on the draft. Bowman is on the hot seat I'm pretty sure so he needs to make moves. Despite Friedman's dumb report that Strome will come cheap, I highly doubt that is the case as Chicago definitely does not need to move him unless a trade moves the needle for Chicago immediately.

This first comment has me a little confused. Yes I agree with Stanley not being a potential top pairing guy. But jack roslovic isn’t a bottom 6 player. As a jets fan, I have been a little disappointed with his overall growth. But this year he’s taken strides to where he could be a 2c next year. He looked fantastic playing C with Appleton and Harkins on his wing, and he imo should have gotten a chance at 2c with Wheeler and Ehlers on his wing. I think he has a breakout year next year. Plus if he’s not a 2c yet, he’s a good 3c and could make that jump next year. Stanley is likely a bottom pairing guy, but if he has some spectacular growth could play top 4. The 1st is an interesting piece that in my opinion leaves the jets overpaying which I’m okay with. I’d honestly be fine with giving up a top 10 protected first in 2020 to get strome.
