I wouldn't be sold on this team getting to the playoffs. Goalies are weak, forward depth is missing and defense seem to be declining.

Pretty much the only change between this and the real SJ team is Meier has changed to Matthews. Granted that's a difference, but not big enough to raise them from 29th position to TOP5 which they'd need to be in order to fight for a cup.

Not that the Leafs would ever accept that trade.

Leafs aren’t taking it. Leafs wouldn’t even consider unless they we’re getting Meier, Couture and Hertl back at least.

Not enough value for Matthews especially with Burns' contract. It would've made sense if it was for the 2020 1st pick but it belongs to Ottawa. Even if you wanted the 2021 1st round pick, it's still not enough for an established young superstar because that 1st round pick could be outside of the top 15.
