I was going to leave out Gross or put a third coming to the Rangers. Sound a little more fair then?

and Rangers turn this down. Swap Strome with Brendan Smith and you're in the ballpark.

4th rounder in 2018. Seems to be a solid defender. Has been a captain for his junior national team in Switzerland. Offense not the best but did step up production this last season in juniors

Gross has been under the radar kind of for the rangers because of kakko, fox, shesterkin, Miller, kravtsov, lundkvist but he is a very solid prospect. He’s 20 years old and is a 6 foot 1 defence men. He’s more of a reliable defencemen that’s more defensive he has 33 points in 53 games in the CHL. He isn’t on a great team but he does play a low risk game which in good in the sense that so many defence now a days are more offensive as it seems. He wore the A in world juniors for Switzerland and only played three games. He’s a good locker room character, and won’t wow you with anything or isn’t high level he’s just reliable and solid.

not necessarily no. it's slightly less ridiculous that what was proposed here...

Strome >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Perreault
Hajek <<< Vesalainen
Gross >>>>> Lundmark.
Smith (as a dman) <<< Perreault

But mp isn’t even the main piece of the trade vesa is so why are u comparing mp to Strome it’s obvious that Strome is better then mp...? Swapping Strome for smith is awful for the jets.

Perreault is a cap dump, Smith is a cap dump.

Vesa is struggling in Manitoba (he's scoring the majority of his points on the PP, he's got a grand total of 10 primary points at Evens in 60 games) and had pretty rough on-ice metrics (-11 GF% rel). He did basically the same thing last year. He's getting sufficiently out-produced by guys like Jansen Harkins and Skyler McKenzie who aren't much older.

In terms of tall wingers in the AHL who are the same age as Vesa, Tim Gettinger is outproducing him. That's not great.

So the difference between Vesa and Hajek is not massive.

Couple that with the fact that the Rangers are taking on a cap dump here in exchange for a guy who has the same amount of points as Ehlers over the last 2 seasons...

So yeah it makes sense.

Offense for defense cap dump. And some prospects swaps. I'd swap Howden for Hajek if you want or Staal for Smith. But yeah Strome isn't appropriate here.

All good. Seemed like a bad idea from the start anyway.
