Two years of "grit" and pretty average play (Manson) shouldn't cost any team a starting centre and expected cost efficient RHD with term. No team values Manson that much but somehow any RHD seems to be a Norris candidate if traded to the Leafs.

wow, a whole 5th round pick for a guy significantly worse than Engvall to shed 250k!

i am also getting a huge kick out of the sudden leap in ability DeMelo has gotten these past few months, a decent defensive number 4 is now suddenly a 4 million dollar top pairing guy!

I don't get how a 4m DeMelo and 2,5m Bennett (playing 3C) is better than 925,000 Liljegren, 3.5m Kerfoot and the Leafs would have 2m in extra cap. This obsession with obtaining any RHD, at any cost is really kinda silly.

the sam bennett obsession people here have is super weird. He's not particularly good, or super cheap or anything.

I make that Marner trade in a heartbeat without batting an eyelash. The Flames would not though.

Not big on DeMelo for that kind of dough.

Remove Kerfoot from the Anaheim deal and change the 2nd to a 1st 2021 and the Ducks probably would do it.

Adding players like Manson and Tkachuk would help the Leafs a lot. This team is powder-puff soft as it is currently constructed.

I'm not completely on board with what you have here but, I like your train of thought. Thanks for posting.

The Leafs don't need Marner, especially with his cap hit
