I like the Strome trade cause their getting a starting goaltender but your gonna have to free up some cap to sign him and Marino next year

I imagine that sorts itself out at the expansion draft when Seattle inevitably gets paid to take Hornqvist.

What do u think happens to Letang once his contract ends? Does he retire or will he sign a short term contract for cheaper?

I like to think he’d take a short term deal for less but it’s definitely debatable given the injury history.

Watch it happen...opens up for Pittsburgh to give Marino something similar to the contract Sam Girard got in Colorado.

I would really like this, just think the contracts might be a bit low

I still don’t understand the Tanev signing to this day. And they have to find a way to get rid of Hornqvist. My other idea is to CBO Hornqvist and just buyout Johnson. Saves them more money longterm

Chicago’s need for a goalie would depend on how they feel about the potential of having Crawford or Lehner.
I’m not high on strome because I don’t think he’ll fit the system(he’s not fast) and he reportedly wants top-6 $$ and minutes which won’t happen in PIT.
I think Connor brown would be a nice piece but preferably for a little cheaper.
I am quite satisfied with our top-4 D as currently constructed. Don’t really think we need De Haan. That would push Pettersson and his new $4M cap hit on the 3D pair.

Tanger and Geno will be lifetime penguins. If they wanted big contracts again, I think PIT would give it to them out of respect and regret it as PIT would turn into an old overpaid team.
I think they should each take a little less. I suggested $7.1M for Geno and $5.8M for Tanger, in honour of their numbers like Sid. Their contacts end after 2021-22 so they would be (Geno-35 and Tanger-34) so maybe offer them 2-3 year deals. Then either they retire or take less again, because let’s be honest, the only way for the pens window to be longer than maybe the next 3 years is if ALL players brought in and ALL players currently here to want to win more than have a huge contract. GMJR needs cap space to keep the top-6 wings stacked and bottom-6 depth well stocked. Solid D(minus JJ) that can move the puck is essential.
And you just can’t give a huge contract to a goalie.
