THERE IS PROBABLY ZERO CHANCE YOU CAN BUY OUT SHATTENKIRK'S CONTRACT. HE WAS ALREADY BOUGHT OUT. GENERALLY RULES ARE PLAYERS ON THE ROSTER AND NOT INJURIED.

Pretty sure it was allowed previously and would be allowed again.

WIN isn't trading their best F prospect for a bottom sixers and picks.

Ott probably accepts

You could probably get slightly more for Strome, add a 4th on MIN's side. But eh it's good Greenway is better offensively than Lemieux so it's not bad at all.

That DAL trade could make sense in 2 years when Harley is a top4 d-man. I don't see it happening right now. Value's good tho good job on that.

Pretty good VGK trade IMO. Not sure tho if moving Buch would be smart. Remove him and Dorofeyev and I'd do it.

Disagree on the DAL trade. Imo the value is bad for DAL. Lindell is better or as good as Trouba but carries more value due to having a better contract, Faksa is better than Lemieux and 2nd is better than 3rd.

Nill would be an idiot to even consider this.

Trouba's better than what he's shown this season IMO he's normally slightly better than Lindell

Nah, I don't see anything that points out to that. Lindell plays better defense and almost equal offense. Plus he's over $2M cheaper. I'd take Lindell any day of the two.

As for Faksa vs Lemieux, meh, it depends on your needs, if you need a pain in the ass, get Lemieux. If you need a young ish center, get Faksa.

Faksa is defensively an elite center. Last year almost in the TOP20 of Selke vote, year before he was 7th. Every Stars fan loves the guy. Also he's started to be a force to be reckoned with on the power play, as he's quite good playing in front of the net.

I'd require a first round pick plus to move him if I were DAL GM. Point being, he's not moving.

Fair enough. If we added a 2021 2nd rounder + a 2022 3rd rounder would you consider it?

Gorton has some final touches like these to make, hopefully he has some magic left. Funny, I felt the same way about the canes for a couple of years, until last year really. Once touted as the best d core depth in the league, your depth seems to have fallen from top 4 depth, to bottom bottom 6 depth. While still lacking that playoff/power f presence and 1g. Good luck I guess 😜

We'd be already giving up a 2021 2nd rounder, so those wouldn't do any difference, which makes this deal a Lindell+Faksa for Trouba+Lemieux+3rd+3rd. And no, I wouldn't take it. Imo two third rounders do not cut the loss of position and money for our team.

I'd rather stick with what we have for now.

You would, but all GMs would certainly disagree. Both slightly overpaid 5.3m & 7m and that's their value. Trouba is a presence and Lindell is a better than average d. Pretty sure DAL would do it, not even sure I or NYR would do? Comes down to cap reasons, which DAL could afford, considering all the left d and c prospects you have coming up. We get two good players and you get a core piece and a pest. Understand you not liking the trade, but it's fair. Actually the more I think about it, the more I realize how well Trouba fits like a glove on our/any d core.

I fail to see how it is fair, as I've already explained.

No idea if you're right or wrong on it being allowed previously but if you're using history as an argument, there's no chance teams will get a COB with a flat cap. CBO was used to allow teams to become cap compliant due to a lower cap. Tagging rules in place prevent teams from spending more in the future than the current cap allows so teams will be fine with a flat cap.
