Are These Reasonable Moves

Created by: juuice
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 8, 2020
Published: Apr. 8, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Only a few moves made, but if the team plays to their potential....I think this could be a solid roster.
- I think Brodin deal could be done.....Rakell, might be a hard sell. A PROPER top 6 goalscorer is needed....
- Once KK and Peohling find their stride in the AHL, they can move into the NHL Roster and move Max back to a wing
- Can Suzuki move into a 1C during the 2020-21 season?? a tall order, but maybe with veteran wingers
- Can Mike Smith play 20-25 games? He and Price were Team Canada teammates, and he was great for a few years.

- still a little wiggle room in the cap....but depending on the cap rise, Domi and Mete's deals may eat that
- then 2021-22 will be interesting with all the UFAs

PROs:
- Goaltending SHOULD be great
- Top 4 D is solid
- 2 Lines that can score
- 3rd Line with scoring and defending capability

CONs:
- Not a BIG lineup
- Success depending on all players meeting their potential. Some inconsistent players in there....(Domi, Drouin, Byron...)
- Suzuki needs to prove he can continue this into next year

Guerin was asking for a top 6 center + or a top line center for Brodin at the deadline, no chance he moves him for this.

Yes, a roster top 6 center. So an example would be Domi + a prospect like Hillis. Not saying he's ever going to get that kind of return, but that was the ask and I don't think Brodin (or Dumba for that matter) are moved unless that ask is met.

Minnasota has no need for more wingers. Their top 6 and 9 is filled. They need some first liners. Like Domi
Brodin is a pretty good top 4 dman I don't see how they move him for more 3rd liners and prospects.

That is an easy pass for the Ducks Hudon is shaping up to be a career AHLer or best case a bottom 6 player and we have no use for more LHD

I'm a habs fan and against bringing in Brodin

That said we stiffed every single team in these deals
Then on top of it to add insult to injury we demanded extensions after low balling them.

It would be like Taylor Hall getting Evans ,and a 2nd

I'm open to suggestions....I guess I value the 1st Rd picks higher than most.

Hudon was basically a warm body to throw in with a legit D prospect and a 1st Rd.
