leafs take a hard pass on that trade.
Marner >> Parayko
bozak is unneccsary,
Liljegren is a former first rounder whose got top 4 potential
and the picks do not make this trade fair

I'd easily rather have Parayko over Marner given the full context. Scoring wingers are relatively easy to find compared to reliable D-men. Marner underperformed the first year of his tacky contract and Parayko has so far performed at or above his 5.5m price tag. We have 3 forwards that scored more 5v5 pts than Marner this season, and Tarasenko would be in that group too... none of whom make anything close to Marner's money - and we have a good PP.

As for the rest of these trades, they seem pretty useless for the Blues, except for the Allen trade. No reason to trade Kyrou, Barbashev, or Sundqvist for those guys.

Parayko’s underlying numbers are pretty underwhelming. I think he’s a great D but not as good as some people say. He’s not a true #1. I’ll take marner all day every day. It’s easier to build around marner than parayko. Parayko may be a better value at nearly half the cost and playing a RHD, but played for played I’ll take Marner all day

If they're each making 11m then that's a different discussion. I'd still want more out of Marner at that price tag tho - that's MVP money, do you think he will win an MVP on his current deal?

No you’re right he’s still a tad overpaid. 9.5-10 million would’ve been more appropriate
