Hmmm, I'd definitely prefer taking a 3rd rather than retained salary like in another one of these I saw ( was that you as well just doing the NJ side?). I think I would be happy with this trade at the end of the day, even Palmieri didn't re-sign. He is worth a 1st+. Zacha could use a fresh start and on a team with two other Czechmates would be great for him.

I would like to see Kammy get a roster spot though and Kaut could be the main call up after a warm up 10 game or so run in the A.

It also wouldn't be the worst getting a 2nd for Nich, I do like him but it would be a steal of a deal for us IMO.

EDIT: Ahhh it WAS you in that other one.
EDIT x2: I also appreciate you asking for the 2021 1st, that is the soonest one I am happy trading away. Especially if the Avs get extra 2nds and 3rds in the end.

The idea behind Zacha, is that if Seattle takes Compher, then there's someone at 3C, and then the prospects can merge in on the wings, as it is typical for a C prospect to start on the wing.

Except when the xdraft comes around Newhook will be on the roster, and you also have Bowers. Zacha to me is just an unnecessary piece, as Colorado is past the point of looking for ‘reclamation’ pieces.

I agree. I don't see why Colorado need Zacha. Rather just leave Jost and Zacha out of that deal. Avs have enough C depth without adding another (Mack/Kadri/Compher/Newhook/Bowers/Jost)

I'd also prefer to keep Nichuskin but I can see why you'd let him walk if he got offered $3m aav. In that case just take the 2nd and use that money to resign Namestnikov.
