Stamkos waives NMC

Created by: Billy739

Description
MTL gives up a lot to get the best bonafide Center since we landed Vincent Damphousse who changed the tide and took us to a cup we had been fighting to get back to since 1986 before we made changes in 1991 that helped us reach that cup in 1993.

Its time MTL makes an impact move to take us forward and without a legit top line Center we might as well give up now and pack it in as no team this decade has won without one without a top line Center.

TBL moves him allowing Point and Cirelli to man the top 6 Center positions while Domi and Paquette round out the bottom 6.This gives them Center Depth still despite losing Stamkos.

Stamkos Agree's to the deal knowing any Team he's leading is a contender and he relies on no one to make a playoff.Stamkos since entering the league he has shown he can decide games by himself as he did making TBL a playoff team as shown his first 4 years in the NHL putting up 179 goals in that time. But as shown with the playoff results each of those 4 years getting there and winning are different things.

He spent all this time in TBL giving his best and TBL has made 3 awesome playoff runs since 2009 but at some point you have to be willing to pass the torch. Seeing the return TBL is getting while seeing the Depth MTL has built for Stamkos to lead he signs up .

MTL drafts the top European RW available (Raymond,Holtz,or Perfetti)
Given the depth we've gotten with 2-7th round picks since hiring Eric Crawford in 2017
With 13 picks this year in those rounds we'll restock more Romanov's,Norlinder,Struble,Ylonen ,Harris,Evans and Primeau's

Given MB said recently that only 1 contract was being offered to our top 5 Prospect scorers of which 4/5 we'll lose the rights to June 1st. Given this declaration its safe to assume he'll be making an impact at the Draft with his 14 picks total.

With Caufield , Poehling ,Primeau and Fleury 1-2 years from turning Pro
Followed by Question marks as the rest are project players who need to learn to play a 200 foot game before their ELC runs out where they'll likely be not qualified and released.

  1. Stamkos, Steven
Additional Details:
Return is
-Center prospect with 116 pts in 151 games and increase from 41-49% FO win rate in his first 2 years as Center. At 25 he's just entering his prime years

-Kotkanemi is our top Center Prospect drafted #3 OA who had a great rookie year but was demoted consistently in his role because he's been known to criticize Claude Julien personally.(same as Seguin did)

-Ylonen is a solid B+ RW prospect with Size i think is comparable to Armia but with more emphasis on goal scoring.

Guaranteed 1st , conditional 2nd that might become a 1st and a 3rd that might become a 2nd if MTL wins a cup .

TBL is better today , tomorrow and years down the road while Point ,Cirelli and Domi are all capable of carrying top line minutes if needed .
TBL
  1. Domi, Max [RFA Rights]
  2. Kotkaniemi, Jesperi
  3. Ylönen, Jesse
  4. 2021 1st round pick (MTL)
  5. 2021 3rd round pick (MTL)
  6. 2022 2nd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
-Conditional 2nd becomes a 1st if Stamkos wins the cup before 2022 draft with MTL.
-Conditional 3rd becomes a 2nd if Stamkos wins the cup before 2021 draft
2.
MTL
  1. Fischer, Christian [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
given his decline and overall play in first 4 years in ARZ i think a top junior prospect and 2 picks is fair .If he wasnt on a 2 year decline maybe ARZ could get better picks but he is and at 23 its a hard sell convincing anyone he's worth a 3rd or more

i'm glad you saw fit to answer a question no one asked.
you're role is to determine value

you nor i are Stamkos so neither of us can make such claims.
show me a piece of paper where he said he'd never accept a trade to MTL or offer input on the value.
i will not however pretend you know more about stamko's personal insights because neither of us have a clue in that regard.
this is just a trade scenario to establish value

in an ideal world this would be a real good trade for both. Benefits tampa balances the roster and they can flip the
picks and prospects if needed like they did with JT Miller. Domi playing with Kuch or point would be real nice.
However, I do see hard to envision Tampa dealing Stammer as well as Montreal trading all those picks and prospects.
Even tho Bergy has proven the past that he doesnt shy away from big moves, he has talked about how he doesnt want
to move parts of the future. Also considering how in the middle hes been like at the trade deadline. I would do it but
Im not sure either team thinks or inisiates talks about a deal of this caliber

Yea, I'm doubting Stamkos waives. Seems like a lot for Montreal to trade away. You gotta think Stamkos won't be nearly as productive in Montreal as he doesn't have line mates such as Kucherov or Point to play with .

The thing is even IF he somehow waived his NMC (wont happen Stamkos is not a prospect and Habs haven't made the playoffs in the last 3 seasons), this is still not enough for top center on a very good contract.

One he wouldn’t waive because he would end up taking a pay cut because of the taxes. Two, if TBL were to even entertain the idea they are going to want a lottery pick the 2020 first to even consider. Three, I don’t see TBL even remotely considering unless there is no cap raise and no cbo’s, and even then they can move contracts like Johnson and Killorn for more space.

I read the description and one thing I always notice is that it seems like a lot of fans don't realize about the Lightning is that Brayden Point is the 1C and Cirelli is the 2C. Stamkos is not in their way he has moved to LW on the top line with Point and Kucherov for a multiple of reasons. He still takes face-offs but he is primarily a winger now and its good for him, I think he will see continued success playing the wing as he gets older.
