Even though the value may be fair I think the Habs would probably prefer the chance of a real stud with that pick. This is the age old question of quality over quantity. I tend to want the quality but if the quantity gets to a certain point, I might change my mind. As is I can't say I would yet although the players involved are nice pieces. Just not enough of a wow factor to say yes.

You picked the wrong team for that kind of trade (even if teams dont trade top 10 picks). MTL already have a ton of great prospects, we're better off taking an elite talent like Raymond, Perfetti or Rossi than get 2-3 ok guys

Like my fellow friend mentioned Montreal have a lot of good prospect but need that one who will emerge as a star. This year top 10 prospect have that potential so Montreal will stick with it.

The difference between Lundell, Bean and Suzuki in terms of value is not massive...

The seems like a lot.

All fair points, but say you draft Quinn or Lundell at 9. Are either of these players going to be stars that are worth more than Suzuki, Bean, and Fleury combined?

Quinn have lot of potential. If he become a 30 goal scorer then yeas he will hold more value then those three guy’s. Lundell have some upside But i am not totally sell on him. I think that Connor Zary would be the players Mtl would select with the 9th pick if Perfetti, Rossi, Holtz, Raymond are no longer available.(depending on where Askarov goes). Zary is a pure goal scorer with very good speed.

Lundell yeah, Suzuki really really struggled this yr and Bean and Fleury have like number 3 at best upside...

Well the first problem is assuming the Habs have the 9th pick. We don't how the season will end yet and based on points % the Habs could get 8th pick. After the lottery we could potentially move down to 10th or 11th for all we know so it really depends. We simply don't know yet. The second is assuming they have to choose between Lundell or Quinn right now. What if its Perfetti? What if its Rossi? What if its Holtz?

But ultimately its a gamble either way. It really depends on who is available and how lucky you get with their development. We've seen Fleury's development so far and its not inspiring. We've seen Suzuki's development so far and its not inspiring. Bean has been very decent but is he better than who you think you can get with the Habs pick? You clearly don't think so being the one willing to make this trade from Carolina's perspective. Why would the Habs think otherwise? Like I said its probably fair value but is it enough to make anyone want to accept? Not sure. Im very much on the fence leaning towards no. Still feels like quantity over quality. Until the quantity makes up for the lack of quality (in comparison to the 9th pick) I don't think id accept.

Fair. But the reason why the habs would value these three players more than the canes would be the bro combos. That's why I chose the habs and not some other team in the 7-10 range.

As fun as it is to think about, if trying to make brother pairs on your team is such an important thing to try and achieve, your heads in the wrong place. Not to toot my own horn but I will anyway, I didnt even put the connection together until you said it lol. Just figured it was Carolina's top 3ish prospects but it completely flew over my head it Cale and Nicks brothers also. lol
