imo that 1 for 1 MTL would do if Strome keeps up that production

I just dont see the point in trading Strome if we are doing it for another forward who is going to be an RFA. The basis of trading Strome would be to acquire someone in a position of need (LD) or someone that has a low cost or future cost certainty. Swapping him for another RFA forward doesnt make sense because Strome has developed chemistry with kane and already has chemistry with Debrincat. So to me we dont trade him unless it is for an LD or picks/prospect

Your first must be the base of the deal... Then adding a little something like Beaudin or Barratt or a second might even things.

Lol that’s cute. Domi isn’t worth a lottery pick and decent prospect but good try.

I would agree that a LD would be most ideal. Truthfully I don’t know what kind of young D we could get for Strome though, most teams aren’t willing to move defensemen

Well, he's our best forward and a 70pts potential player... ARZ traded their 7th oa and a great prospect (Tony DeAngelo) in 2017 for a second line C and a number two G. You wont get Domi for Strome thats for sure. The only reason we'd entertain a Domi trade is because we're already stack at C for years to come... No point in trading him for another C who's had one great year so far in his career after being a 3rd oa choice.

You could say the same about Strome, easily a 70 point potential player and he’s a true center. You won’t get a top 10 pick and B prospect for Domi, not one GM would even consider that.

And Domi, who's 2 years older has never produced more then 44 points in a season but he's a potential 70 point player apparently, yet Strome who's 2 years younger who's already had a 57 point season is not a potential 70 point player? Something is wrong with your logic.

We'd keep Strome 1 for 1 because he's 2 years younger and is going to be a bit cheaper then Domi. MTL needs to add if they want this done.

Idk if its really that bad, depending on the pick. Sikura and Quenneville both only have value because they are still young. Domi definitely has the edge in production but Strome is a center so the value is probably a little hard to say. Its better than the dude saying our 1st starts it.

Best season Domi has had is 44 points; Strome 57 points and Strome is 2 years younger. Are you sure about Domi having the edge?

Actually Domi have had a 52 point season in is first year, was on pace for 53 the following year and a 72 point season last year and was on pace for 50 this season.

Yes, my bad was looking at this year.

Strome had 57 last season and on pace for 54 this year....is 2 years younger though. I wouldn't take Domi for Strome straight up given that Strome is younger and will cost around $4.25M on a bridge.

Overall all the Habs players this year except Tatar have had a down year. Domi havent had good winger for most of the year, with Drouin and Byron who miss most of the season he have been playing with bottom 6 winger for a long period and when he started to have chemistry with Armia, Armia got hurt. At some point he was on a 17 point in 17 game streak but after that he was playing with Weal and Lehkonen so that is much more harder to produced at a high pace.

Oh yeah for sure, but that is the leverage against montreal, is that they dont have a real high powered offensive center yet who has developed good chemistry with anybody, which is what Strome can be

Both players are pretty much the same. But i still keep Domi just because of that thoughness he bring to the game. Both overall i thibk that a one on one deal is pretty fair considering the age difference. Last thing i think that Domi will edge better since he is such a fluid skater, Strome skating isn’t the best past of is game and history have shown that player who aren’t great skater doesn’t do so well when they age.

Strome isnt that guy’s, at best he would be a good 2 centerman but we already have Danault who done a very good job. Strome would do better with Jordan Weal and Lehkonen.
Trading Domi for Strome would put Montreal in the exact same soot as they are right now.

I'm sure Domi would love playing in Chicago. The problem for Bergevin is that he is in a dillema, because last year (2018-19) was a complete breakout season, so that will certainly boost his contract. I'm sure his play was affected by the fact that this was a contractual year for him. A lot of players go through the same problem.
And for people saying he isn't a true center, his game in general is more suited for the center position, but he is not the best in defensive missions. He is more of an offensive player. He became a much better goal-scorer. But at the same time, keeping him long-term in the position will compromise the development of other centers (such as Suzuki and Kotkaniemi). And Danault is too important now to be moved. So the best solution for him moving forward is probably to shuffle him with another left-handed center (such as Kotkaniemi) and spare him of important missions in case there is an icing. He is one of those rare players where his style is between a center and a winger.
And this doesn't make sense for the Blackhawks because they lose some size in trading for Domi. Strome is dangerous in really close areas and he is still the best center they have found since they won the cup. Last year, Strome was yin to DeBrincat's yan. But at the same time, they have Kubalik to pay and they have to find a goaltender (probably Crawford). If I were Bowman, I would consider trading Strome, but I would examine all of my options.

Check you facts buddy, Domi had a 72 pts season in 2018-2019...
