Mood: silence 😂😂

I've liked Skjei's play with us other than his first game. Way too small of a sample size to determine how good or bad that he'll be with us this coming season or playoffs, however.

He's been fine. Not great, not awful. He's had to play on his offside a little bit bc of Pesce and Hamilton's injuries, so it'll be interesting to see how he'll do on the left side with pesce next season.

As a Rangers fan I thought Skjei was a good defenseman and if NYR wasn't up against the cap next season he wouldn't of been traded. Skjei drew harsh criticism from some Rangers fans, but he was developing into a well rounded top 4 defenseman.

I like the trade for the Rangers because they had to shred salary for next season and I was surprised Gorton got a 1st round pick, but only because of incorrect comments about Skjei on this site. If you dared to propose a trade on this site involving Skjei for a 1st round pick to TOR or any other team, there would be a feeding frenzy of mostly Leafs fans dishing out many hurtful comments. Leafs fans love to undervalue Rangers players. The Skjei trade was a perfect example of it.

All of these guys forget that Skjei is only 26 and has 4 years left on his deal at a cap hit that could quickly become a bargain if he starts to play up to his potential with the Canes. Getting a guy like him for only a (likely) late 1st could end up being a huge coup.
