What would the Canucks need to give up in order to move Erikssons full cap hit to say the Sens? No first rounders.

the one saving grace with Eriksson- is the money actually owed is quite small, so while the caphit sux...youre not paying anywhere near that. If the canucks owners will bit the bullet- they could take Gaboriks almost $5mil contract off of them (the actual cost is approx. $1m before insurance) and if on LTIR the caphit doesnt hurt you. Erikssons last year only pays him like $1mil in his pocket- he might bolt back to Europe for that (probably earn just as much if not more). Eriksson would help Ottawa get to the cap floor (very few teams will be in that position this year). while saving the cheap ass owner some real cash.

sweeten it with a prospect or two : Gadjovich, Brisebois,Rafferty...or worse case Virtanen and a deal could be made.
With Eriksson gone, and assuming Ferland goes on LTIR..there cap issues arent terrible. Still likely have to move one or more of Sutter, Beagle,Baertschi, Roussel or even let Stecher go
