Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
These both could be overpayments, and it wouldn't even matter because the sens have to many valuable assets...
-Zatisev bought out next year, Subban's contract expires in 2 years and would be fun to have in Ottawa, could even turn his game around. Hanifin is a stud.

This a cup contending Future D-Core by 2022-2023
Chabot-JBD
Hanifin-Drysdale
Brannstrom- Thomson --> could even be traded, both have easy top 4 potential.

I thought Raymond would be higher, but NHL.COM has him going 10th to NJD. Ottawa would really benefit picking 2 or 3 to get Byfield or Stutzle. I would trade up just a couple spots to get him

I love it. It's actually possible, new jersey will use their compliance buyout on Schneider. Trade Subban, get a good piece back, as well as dowgrade your 2nd 1st by about 8 picks while adding a 2nd that you used on Subban in the first place.

Don't really see the Hanifin deal and I don't think it's necessary if they draft Drysdale. Chabot-Drysdale-Brannstrom-JBD is a fantastic Top 4, in that order.

But I'd definitely do that Subban one.

Like you, I don't see any way Raymond drops to 10. If he did, the list of picks prospects I'd use to trade up from NYI pick to get him is pretty long.

From what I can tell, why would NJ do this? Its not like they need the cap space. Subban is still their best dman and sells tickets. These trades where a team loses the high paid player usually happens hen they need to the cap space for soemthing. Pending UFA, RFA, big splash on the free agent market, ect.

Do up a NJ AGM, trade Subban away, and fill out the roster with viable players without making the team worse in the short term. Its very very hard to do.

Subban is worth more in potentially refinding his game then in NJ trading him away at a loss.

I just wouldnt bother with the Hanafin trade. You give up a ****ton only to point out that the guy right below him has top 4 in him.

Id rather be using Tierney and our 2020 2nds to try and move up into the 1st (or get Poolparty from EDM)
