I don't disagree, but I'm ranking by position.

It's your Corsi For % relative to your teammates Corsi For % while you're off the ice. The higher the Corsi Rel/60, the more you're outperforming your teammates.

You should be careful with this word when describing Corsi.

It means that specific player is getting more shot attempts for than against when he is on the ice compared to his teammates when they are on the ice. So if your sole metric for "performance" is shot attempts, then you could say that you are outperforming your teammates. However, there are other things that it doesn't take into consideration like quality of teammates (QoT), quality of competition (QoC), and time on ice (TOI).

Like all stats, Corsi (relative or otherwise) is a good tool when evaluated in conjunction with other metrics. In a vacuum, it can be incredibly misleading.

agreed, RAPM charts, WAR, and GAR are really the best advanced analytic tools to determine a players value in my opinion

Those are certainly better, but I would still be careful with using one (or even two or three) stats, no matter how "advanced", to determine a player's overall value. They can be helpful in determining whether players are good or bad at certain things or in certain situations, but not whether players are "good" or "bad" overall.

RAPM charts are pointless. I used to be heavily interested in the analytics side of hockey, but over the last couple of years they haven't really been marketed as beneficial. They are cool to look at if you are interested but I wouldn't trust them to be indicative of anything relating to a player's overall skill.

Oh, I agree. I was meaning in the sense of outperforming in terms of Corsi, not actually "outperforming" their teammates.
