So who’s the odd man our next year? Larson, Yamamoto or RNH?

Not sure you’ll get cap room to keep all 3.

I'm sure they probably could if they wanted to based on this AGM, but if one had to go it would for sure be Larsson.

Sens decline. Puljujarvi could make Sense for Ottawa, but he's not enough for Brown, and definitely not enough for Ottawa to take Russell.

A better deal in my opinion would involve Chris Tierney. Really good 3C and it lets you put Nuge on the Wing.

That trade is right from an Ottawa guy.

I'm not sure if that gets it done for Ottawa because they are also taking on Russell, but don't go to crazy for Brown. He's only okay.

And I disagreed with it there too. Connor Brown is a very valuable player for Ottawa. He brings a lot of experience, while still being young enough to make sense going forward in Ottawa. He's a character guy who works his ass off and is a great example for the young guys in Ottawa coming up.

Brown's trade value would be way higher than JP.

Well I would prefer to Keep Poolparty, but his agent is a dick and poolparty is a spoiled bratt. Like who doesnt want to play in the NHL for a living.

Russell is supposed to be the best dressing room guy since sliced bread came out. Good for the Sens to have that type of guy.

To be fair, he doesn't not want to play in the NHL, he just doesn't want to play for the Oiler's.

Well, it would depend on how I was treated/handled in the organization. If I could just wake up tomorrow and play in the NHL, awesome, but he's worked his whole life to get there, and if he feels like he was mistreated or mishandled then who am I to judge?

Not really. He led his team in scoring and was 4th overall. Best team in the league, too.

I just mean a tough time with English. Like he must have learnt it if the bench is in English. I have been watching him all year

After his bonus is paid, russell is only owed 1.5 mil in real money, something melnyk really loves

It doesn't have to do with actual dollars so much in this scenario though. Taking on Russell and his cap hit is doing the Oiler's a favor. He's negative value in a deal. So basically think of it as Brown + for JP. I'm not sure the Sens would even do Brown for JP 1 for 1.

Brown is a rfa meaning he has to get paid at least over 2.1 mil while Russell only gets paid 1.5 mil
And by adding a potential player that could explode like poolparty, this should be a good deal for ottawa and edmonton

This is pretty irrelevant. Taking Russell's contract is doing a favor for the Oiler's. This is regarding cap hit not actual salary.

the things is that ottawa still has to get to the cap floor so the thought behind this is that this trade helps them get to the cap floor and will cost in actual money a little less
