Vegas decline, why would they pay that much for a rental. Pietrangelo is not signing with a rebuilding club.

Way too much invested in goaltending you really only have 1-1.5 mil available for a backup

Allen for Byron? Not a terrible idea to fill the gap if we do end up needing to buyout Steen, and get rid of Bozak, might a decent replacement.

Actually....for 2020-21, its not completely unreasonable based on their current cap situation.....the problem will be 2021-22 when the Habs have to sign a bunch of UFA & RFAs, and having a $10.5m goalie on the books.

Best case scenario:
- massively overpay for a backup for the 2020-21 season
- Hope to God that Primeau will be NHL ready in 2021-22 on an entry level deal for 3 seasons.
- 2021-2024 you have Price and Primeau splitting time at about $11.5m - potential for a GREAT tandem there, at a reasonable price.
- 2024...Decision time.....

Anaheim says No, And noway in hell Pietrangelo takes 7 x 8 from Montreal. Try more like 7 x 10.

I like that thinking. Byron's an excellent depth player but people only sees his stats and says his contract stinks but sometimes you pay for specialty player. He can burn anyone on the ice, kills PK and makes scoring chances out of it with his excellent stick positioning.

Allen sucks big time

Wait a minute, he crumbled under pressure when he was asked to be THE guy but when playing under 40 games a season see for yourself; 2014-15, 2.28 / .913 and 2019-20, 2.15 / .927. He is a solid backup, he just cannot take a full load which makes his contract bad.

I mean with 2 years left on Price's contract (And the cap being higher by then) it isn't unreasonable to think he could be traded as a salary dump to a team he'd like to play for (Thanks NMC) or simply buy him out.
