I don't disagree with your desire to get Lehkonen off the books, but (1) he isn't going to bring back a second, especially one that is going to be 36th overall, and (2) Anaheim doesn't need him.

You're giving assets to get rid of Alzner's contract (I guess because you're 55k under the cap), but you've got 3 players that needs to be sent down to be compliant to the 23 man roster plus Juulsen has done literally nothing to command a 2M$ salary.
I don't mind the signings (Even if you're on the rich side on some) but Romanov's not coming here to be a 7th dman so Mete and Kulak becomes your two healthy scratch on defense and for the sake of dev you send KK/Poehling to Laval and bring up anyone else. That clears out 3.72M$ which is enough to keep Alzner (3.55M$ burried) and my early 2nd rounder (Which is not enough for someone to take that contract btw).

"He SHOULD be capable of alleviating pressure on Price."
-At 4M$ a year he better be a freaking decent backup.

Not stated but pretty sure Anaheim's a placeholder as they're the first one in the trade block.

I agree 100%.
No need to waste a precious high 2nd round pick in a deep draft.
I also think you shoudn't give such a big contract to Gustafsson.
Let Romanov play with Petry, and play as much as possible.
The guy will be a perfect 2nd pair D, maybe not next year, but he'll need to play enough to become one.

Wow, this is horrible. That Gustafsson contract is disgusting, Domi & Toffoli are overpaid, and you’re giving $2 million to a player that has played a total of 37 games in the last 2 seasons. And giving up Lehkonen to move Alzner is horrible asset management, since Alzner’s buyout cap hit isn’t bad whatsoever.

Also agree, he's been a one year wonder but came down to earth pretty quickly and traded for a 3rd rounder, I don't think that brings him a long term 3M$+ contract.

Pump the breaks a bit here, the Gus contract is in the right price range just maybe a year or 2 too long. Too much for Toffoli? Really? You will be lucky to get him for less than 6M. Domi contract seems accurate, maybe only 3 years though. The rest I agree with.

Gustafsson isn’t good and we don’t need him. Domi wouldn’t get 6 million even if the salary cap wasn’t screwed up by the virus. At this point, through his 2 years as a hab, Domi’s been very inconsistent, which is definitely not worthy of a long term contract. At this point he’s only been useful at C, and that’s the last thing the habs need right now. So it makes no sense to commit to him for a long time right now. I’d say something like a one year contract at about $4 million. As for Toffoli, yeah he’d probably get that in free agency in a normal year, but the habs can’t afford to overpay anyone, and this year is definitely not a normal year.

I see your point...honestly, I just put Anaheim cause they are the first team on the list. I like Lehkonen, but the Habs have too many 3rd liners. I would move him for very little at this point, just to open up space.

Ya, Forget about that Juulsen deal, not sure why I went to $2m there...put him on the league minimum if he's healthy and training camp goes well. Maybe I was thinking that if he was healthy this time, he would have earned that and been a decent 5/6 by now, with hopes of becoming a top 4...

Alzner and Lehkonen, just trying to get them off the books. I'd like to save that buyout money if possible....but you're right, the buyout could be managed. I like Lehkonen, but the Habs have too many 3rd liners...Its basically between Lehkonen and Byron for me. I'll take Byron (healthy) even though he's older. And in a year or two, he'll either sign for $1m or move out.

Toffoli is just about a perennial 20 goal scorer with some size. Only one full season he didn't score 20. Its gonna cost a bit to get him or someone like him. I like Rakell out of anaheim, but I'm not sure they'll let him go.

Domi...overpriced.....again, I think its gonna be hard to nail him down for less. I'd like to see him at the $5.5, or do a bridge deal, but not sure that'll go. Although...if someone Offer Sheets him for $6m (or more) we'll get at least a 1st Rd draft pick back.....so maybe thats some leverage....

Agreed that ROMANOV shouldn't be a 5-6-7 D. I'd only bring him up to the big club if he's ready for a top 4 role. Maybe with a little time as the 5th. I just don't think he will be ready next year.

Gustafosson....I like him, not my 1st Choice....but I think it's gonna be hard to get a top 4 LHD as a UFA, and i doubt any of the Habs prospects or Mete can be a proper Top4 LHD. Trade hopefully.....but not sure we'll be able to grab a Brodin. What other Top 4 LHD are reasonable for the Habs to go for??

As for contract durations....ya, I'm prolly a little there. I'd need to lay out the next 5-6years for the whole team and post that....
