I am looking to trade with teams that need a center. Nuge is up for grabs. Montreal, Columbus and Minnesota all need good centers.

Not if I can help it.

Why is Nuge up for grabs? He was a total stud in the last 30 games. I don't see any reason to trade him right now.

Probably that his contract is expiring.

    Would CBJ take that risk?

I could see RNH - Bjorkstrand as a base deal, but I can't see CBJ even entertaining the deal unless he extends.

I just thought for his goal production we can free ourselves with some cap space which will be tight next year and following. It is just my idea, there are plenty of ideas. My best idea was to get Eriksson Ek from Minnie as I like that guy a lot. But some people are fussy about Fiala. bBut whatever, they can have theri 35 year old center and nobody but wingers in their system.

That can all be worked out. I prefer my Minnie trade. But is this a fair deal player wise.

You're asking too much for RNH. Of course he is immediately an impact player on CBJ, but they only get one year out of him. Texier can become something, Bemstrom is showing the potential to be a top 6 winger very soon, and Merzlikins has very high value as it is. Not to mention that CBJ is very high on Bjorkstrand, who himself carries a lot of value.

Realistically, the most you will probably get is two of any of the above players (Bjorkstrand OR Merzlikins PLUS Texier OR Bemstrom) for RNH and JP, with a hefty conditional pick on RNH resigning.

I wouldnt do the trade for just 2 of them. Samorukov is a stud D and has value. I can get a backup goalie like Dell for probably 2 million bucks. Man COlumbus keeps finding these goalies everywhere, They said on Gregor show (The NHL goalie Guy was on) that columbus has another goalie ready to go as well.

Kivlienieks? (Seems like their names get harder to spell as time goes on)
Given how many defensemen CBJ has, they won't need Samorukov. You're essentially just swapping him for one of the forward prospects, which isn't necessary here.

Terisov or something like that. Around the 11;15 mark

    RE: CLB trade

I think Nuge is the best player in the deal at the current moment but the accumulated pieces coming from CLB might be more worth than the package from EDM. At least in their mind. I think the problem spot is Chiasson. If you swap him with someone CLB actively wants, then maybe this starts making them listen.

Thank you, i am a little reluctant to throw Chaisson in the deal due to the fact is with the Neal buyout, he is on our PP, But I thought I would return a right wing, since I took 2 of them from the Jackets.

    How about this
    Bjorkstrand, Oliver
    Merzlikins, Elvis [RFA Rights]
    Texier, Alexandre

It might be closer than. but I am not sure the value is good enough for the Oilers. almost but not quite
    Nugent-Hopkins, Ryan
    Samorukov, Dmitri
    Puljujärvi, Jesse [Reserve List]

cbj doesn't even need to think about this the answer is no.
They are good with all 3 players you are asking for. Meanwhile all your players are problem children. RNH you fear will leave, why would he stay at CBJ? JP is a joke, he's not even nhl level

Look, Nuge is great but he has 1 year left. Samo will be a decent dman but CBUS does not need that. Chiasson blows and JP is pretty much low value now.

Breaking apart the trade... its our top prospect last year who had a good rookie season, our best offensive player currently who our front office is confident will be a 30 goal scorer, tex who was also a top 50 prospect last year and is looked to be a 2C, and Elvis who just had a pretty insane year. Both Bemstrom and Tex were top fifty prospects entering last season and had decent rookie years.

If you're looking to get that package... I dont even know what you're giving up. Nuge + Yamamoto + your 2020 first, and instead of Samo you're giving up a higher end D prospect. Plus more probably. Not trying to be a dick but that's a horrid trade for us.

Again, not trying to be a dick.. but if we make a trade this off season it will be goaltending + defense for offense. I would absolutely love an extended RNH though.

Sure, his contract is expiring, but Edmonton is hardly in the rental-for-picks market. (A) They should be looking to contend so they should ice the best possible roster rather than trade good players for lesser, younger players, and (B) they shouldn't have any problem re-signing Nuge.

Wow Columbus declines easily. A starting goaltender who is putting up great numbers a guy who is having a career year and a 19 year old who is playing in the nhl and has top 6 potential?
For what 1 year of Nug? They even need all the cap space they can. I'm no jackets fan but I would reject this

We have Kivileneiks who is probably an AHL goaltender but he did decent in the NHL this year. Vehvilainen is probably ready to try out the NHL if he wasnt blocked. Tarasov is a top goalie prospect but theres at least another season or two before he comes to america. We are pretty lucky with these goalies lol.

Do you want us to sign Nuge for you, or can you and Nuge just work that out between your GM and Nuge before the trade goes through. I am being the Oilers GM here. Nuge would have had more points as a 2 way center than all those guys combined if he didnt play half the year with JUNK Khaira, Neal and Chaisson. UGHHHHH Brutal. Lat 30 games as CD said, top 6 in NHL in points playing with good linemates. I understand the trade doesnt work, bu I was just looking at columbus number 1 need is a top center 1/2 and oilers need wingers. But I think honestly he will retire an Oilers. I am bored and trying to work something out. I will probably work on trading Nurse next as Samorukov they say is almost ready for top 4 minutes.
Thank you for all your information.

Columbus isn’t moving anything you’re asking for. Bjorkstrand, Texier and Merzlinkins are untouchable and Bremstrom is pretty close.

RNH is a great add for us, but if that’s the price Columbus would walk away from that offer. That’s way too much for 1 good player.
