Vince Dunn?

He’s here. I originally signed him 2 x 2.75. I felt it was a bit low so I pulled it out to switch it to 2 x 3. That’s probably when u came in

And all it took was praying for a CBO and Bozak not having Buffalo on his NTC teams, lol. This is about as hopeful as all the Leafs fans making Pietrangelo lineups.

I’m sure they could trade a prospect and/or pick with Steen if there wasn’t a CBO.

Buffalo is a good fit for Bozak if his trade protection doesn't get in the way.

Obviously, this only works if there is a CBO. If there is not, I assume the same players (Steen, Bozak, Allen) will be trade bait and they would just potentially buy Steen out if anything. I do think they will find a way to keep Pietrangelo, even though it would be crazy to see him hit the free agent market.

can't afford any reserve players. Salary cap is V generous, given circumstances. IMO the writing is on the wall...

i think its quite clear the blues may be planning to move on without pitrangelo. If he planned on staying why has he not re-signed with them. They offered him early in the season and he was not interested in the 8.25 for 8 contract. To me I think it may be time for the blues to move on. They can build a suitable dcore for the future and wont have to put so much money into an older dman who could fall out half way through his contract. Instead the team can use that money elsewhere to keep themselves sustainable for long cup runs into the forseeable future. Besides Parayko or O'rielly with a C could be intriguing.

I really don't think the Blues have to offer 9.5m to retain Pietrangelo. Certainly it appears St Louis based Pietrangelo wants to remain a Blue. I can't think of one team that would be attractive to Pietrangelo. C .that can offer him 9.5m....may be not even 8.5m without dismantling their lineup.
With RFAs getting more money than used to, there is less money for UFAs.

I think it's harder to move Bozak than you think.
1st 10 team no trade list.
2nd he's 34 years old making 5 million a year.

That was a bad contract when they signed it, you don't 32 year old guys 3 year deals.
1-2 years max, then see whats next

I agree, it will be hard to find a place that is not on his no-trade list that be willing to take him at 5m.

I think there was some panic in the Bozak signing. Armstrong thought the ROR deal was dead (got revived when Berglund's agent screwed up his NTC and when Botterill realized that the SB wasn't due until the end of July 1) and so he had that money burning in his pocket and a big need for C. Still, I saw it as a partial win - 5x3 instead of 4x4 - but you're right, I think if Army knew he was getting ROR, nothing more than 2 yrs would've been on the table.
