Why? They already have 2 good left wingers and were leading the Conference in scoring when the season was paused. Hall is going to get paid too much.
If it were up to me, I'd go with the Stanley Cup champion Captain from just last year over the guy that's played in 5 career playoff games total.

Cause you guys already have a lot of defenseman and Pietrangelo would just take those guys minutes. Hall would be better because you guys don't have many second liners

Because they already have a ton of very good defenseman. Playoff games isnt an individual stat. It's a team stat so he has very little control over it. Hes still a very good player and would be a great fit on this team. Hes one of the beat players off the rush in the league, the Avalanche are the best team at scoring off the rush in the league. Hes pretty much a center, he'd be the avs best left winger though

Not my team, just looking at it from an outside view. I think Hall is going to get overpaid and isn't going to be an upgrade to what they have after a year or two. If they did it at the TDL I would have understood it, but not now.
Pietrangelo would be a good mentor for Makar and brings a ton of playoff experience to a young team.
Also, he did trade away Zadorov in his proposal.

You don’t pay hall elite top luge money to be a 2nd liner. And he’s not taking landeskogs spot

Johnson can shift down to 3rd pair minutes bc he’s slowing down, the money is better served on pietro than hall bc avs have solid fwd prospects to fill the middle 6, the 2’nd line wing isn’t a major concern

And its not like you have Johnson doing the exact same job and is a RH defenseman as well.
Your acting like Pietrangelo isn't going to start declining even though he is older

He will be a second liner. He had one down season (on Arizona) and apparently he is one of the worst in league for some reason. Makes no sense to me. If you put him with good players he will play good

You don’t lay someone in the 10m range to play on your 2nd line, landeskog and his defensive game allows mackinnon to be mackinnon

Hall doesn’t do that. They money needed to get him would be well wises to invest in other areas. Nice to have but what role he would be in you can sign someone at half the cost and get the same value out of

And what is Pietrangelo gonna do? If you plan on signing Pietrangelo then don't call up Byram. Cause Pietrangelo is gonna eat up all the minutes.
Honestly I wouldn't even sign either cause then your just gonna lose Landeskog

You can still call up Byram and let him ease into the NHL with a stable D partner in Johnson the 3rd pair to ease him or let him play with Pietro and let him do what he does best
All Im saying and what the OP Avs fans is saying is that investing money in Pietro is a better use of Cap space over guys like Hall.

Avs could move on from both Graves and Zadorov in trades getting solid pieces back from them and have a Dcore of. If Avs want to be players on him, there is a spot on the roster and cap in order to do so

Hall is not way better for the Avs, you can have our opinion, but I dont think you really understand how the Avs play or what their needs are, you just assume big money winger means good fit...its not.

And Avs wont lose Landeskog, roster model projections show that they can spend around 9m in UFA this year and still have the money to resign both Makar and Landeskog.
Avs are in a solid spot right now
