Why is Columbus making said trade?

I see it as a top 4 LHD for a 3rd line center, which we heb 2 of already, a LHD prospect that really isn’t very good, and I wouldn’t say he he even has top 4 potential, and what one would project to be a low end 2nd with this roster.

Sorry but if you want a LHD from Columbus try Murray, he’s also be a lot less expensive to acquire.

I Don't see the need of bringing Dermott, ke'andre is ready especially if he is paired with deangelo

I'd honestly be fine with Murray. He's been awesome when healthy (but when is he healthy?) I'd probably say some sort of conditional trade with a 2021 pick based off of Murray's GP would be best.

Don't think you're going to get a 1st for Gavrikov, but I can understand wanting to hold onto him (most Ranger fans don't want to deal Lindgren either). He's a good player, who looks even better in Torts' system which is amazing.

Do CBJ fans not like Kukan? The numbers say he's really good at hockey....but that doesn't seem to be his rep?

The need is to get Staal/Smith off the ice...even if you bring in K'andre.

And Dermott is great. He's a really good buy-low candidate now that Toronto is in a cap pinch.

He's been buying food for the elderly in Russia.

https://www.blueshirtbanter.com/2020/4/9/21215295/nhl-new-york-rangers-vitali-kravtsov-offers-his-assistance-to-elderly-in-vladivostok

But he's been doing well in the AHL specifically in the neutral zone working on his defensive game.

Quinn has been forcing all of his high puck possession Euro prospects (Kakko/Kravtsov/Chytil) to become primarily dump and chase players. Which suckssss, so that's why he didn't make the club out of camp last year.

I think on a line with Panarin, who will help his defense a ton, Kravtsov can become a really nice playmaker in the same way Buch did.

Personally I like Kukan. He’s a great 3rd pair d. The problem is Murray is better and he’s the 3rd pair LHD in Columbus. So he needs to go to make room.

As for Gavrikov, I don’t think the value is off at all. Just no interest from a Columbus stand point to move him. He’s very underrated and played great last year with Savard and was 2nd pair all year.

Gotcha. Let me edit this to go with a Murray trade.

OK thanks, I read that he struggled in KHL so much that the Rangers recalled him to AHL and he was struggling there. SO than it had me thinking at that point of a Puljujarvi for Kravtsov trade for prospects. But if he is doing great than that s wonderful. Thanks for the Info

Yeah Quinn in particular is really bad at developing European prospects. I'm not really worried about Kravtsov at all tbh. Especially if you put him out there with Panarin.

I mean just for context, he put up the same pts/gm in the KHL as Denisenko despite Kravtsov being on one of the lowest scoring teams in the KHL and Denisenko being on one of the highest. Then he went to the AHL and put up about the same numbers as Joe Veleno, Oliver Wahlstrom and Rasmus Kupari. He's doing fine.

Jessie put up in 39 gp 12 goals 16 assists in AHL as a 18 year old
Kratsov put up 39 gp 6 goals 9 assists as a 19/20 year old
That is why I thought he was struggling.
He cant be close to making the NHL with those stats unless like you said that coach is really brutal.

I'm not sure JP is a good comp for him in most ways. His background/skill set is closer to Buch with better hands.

i guess we're going to go with the idea of trying to out score other teams rather than defend. this forward group is going to be a huge liability in front of igor. that pk line up... lol.

i've watch almost every game kravtsov played in hartford, and seen him live twice. comparing kravtsov and buch as similar players made me laugh. how many games of his did you watch to come to this opinion?

This year? Not too many- 2 in the KHL, 3 in the AHL. Last year caught about 10 in the KHL.

They seem to play a similar style to my eyes. I can understand how you see it differently. Buch had 3 full seasons in the KHL after his draft year to develop. Kravtsov had 1.

Sagecoll what is going on with Kravtsov?

kravtsov struggled early on. north american game is much more physical and not as open as the khl. the first game i went to watch him play was the second to last game he played before he went back to the khl. the game igor got his first shut out. kravtsov seriously looked horrible. didn't compete for the puck against the boards. one play i remember i lost the puck and just stared at the guy who stole the puck from him go up the ice.

what made kravtsov so interesting in russia is his ability to move the puck with his high end skill. in the ahl he was pushed off the puck easily. he improved during the season but he still has a LOT of work to do. there is no doubting his skill. he makes flashy plays look easy, but i have doubts on his ability to produce offense in the nhl. kravtsov needs to show he can be a top 6 forward in the nhl. he doesn't have the game to play bottom line mins.

some more time in the ahl is going to be good for him. he improved his defensive play. he still isn't winning puck battles but he is smart. positions himself well. he isn't want we all thought he was before this season but he still has a lot of promise.

Yah I was wondering how his development is going and if a trade between him and Puljujärvi would be fair, which I think it is very fair. Kevin Woodley on the Jason Gregor show said Shesterkin is so amazing and by the end of next year will be the best goalie in the NHL

that would be a bad trade for the rangers. kravtsov skill set just hasn't shown on the score sheet yet. the kid thought he was going to come to north america and become a superstar like panarin overnight. this next season is going to be big for him. i think he'll do well. the rangers are better off just holding him and see where it goes.

igor is already something special. he's 24, the ranger don't have to mold him. i have no doubt he'll step in next season and be great.
