Uhhh, no.

Minnesota isn't giving up their best center under age 30, a quality top four defenseman, and a quality prospect for Poolparty and two spare parts.

Honestly, take Dumba and Khovanov out of this trade and Minnesota still says no.

Puljujarvi's numbers are similar to Sebastian Aho.

Except Aho was in his D+1 while Puljujarvi is D+3.

Except for the fact that Aho was almost 19 and PPG in Liiga, and Pulju is almost 22... That's a MASSIVE difference... Not to mention Karpat better (slightly) this year compared to Aho's year... Not to mention Aho hasn't already had a "failed" career in NA or demanded a trade...

When Aho was 18. There is no correlation to draw there. Puljujarvi isn’t going to fetch a premium return because 1) other teams aren’t going to pay a premium for perceived problem children and 2) he hasn’t proven in the NHL he is capable of being an impact player or even a good player. The vast majority of his perceived value is from his draft position.

Sure, but Aho didn't **** the bed in his first 3 NHL seasons then leave for Europe because he couldn't produce in the best league in the world. Instead he earned himself a $42M+ contract.

So go ahead and trade some players for Sebastian Aho, then send Aho to Minnesota in Puljuljarvi's place and Minnesota might consider it.

So a spoiled player who could not cut it in the NHL and ran back to Europe, a guy with tons of speed, but can not play defense and a middle of the road prospect for a very good RHD who had a off year, a good center who is still young and a prospect. Sorry but this does not cut it. Many ripped Leaf fans for low balling for Dumba but this is just as bad.

I too would rip into you about this trade valuation, but I think it has been sufficiently done. Hope the rest of your day goes better.

Coming from someone without a dog in the fight, All the pool party haters are right. He is trash. He knew it...and the oilers knew it. He went back to Russia to build his own self esteem and stats, knowing he just couldn’t cut it with the likes of McJesus, Draisatl, Nuge etc. and knowing he wasn’t going to get the contract he wanted. Cut and run. What a tool. He’s worth no more than a 3rd round pick for a rebuild/project.
In fact, he reminds me of Anderson in Columbus. He has potential, but wants a much higher contract than he’s worth.

Jarmo is from Finland, and he passed over pool party to take Dubois #3 OA. Everyone thought Jarmo was crazy, all the scouting services had Poolparty at #3.
I guess he knew what he was doing there, for sure.
Anderson 4th round
Bemstrom 4th round
Gavrikov 6th round
Nutivaara 7th round
Kukan undrafted

Regardless of whether previous responses accurately value Puljujarvi, Minnesota cannot make that trade.

Like the Oilers, the Wild have a roster with significant gaps. Whereas Edmonton needs a 3C most of all, Minnesota needs at least 3 quality C's who aren't past their best before dates and are able to compete at the NHL level. As for Dumba, I don't think Holland would seek out a trade for a player like him. Edmonton's defense is not as consistently strong as many other teams, but it is not the major weakness with the team either. They are more likely to spend their most valuable trade bits on that 3C, and maybe another solid middle six forward, which would both pay bigger dividends than adding Dumba to the mix.
