the whole "20 mins" thing doesn't work out... trust me, we tried it for a year with kadri and both kadri and Matthews ended up getting shafted. You have three capable centers on that line, just skip namestnikov and move nugent up. You have too many UFAs and RFAs the next year to add namestnikov anyways.

Instead of paying Nasty 4mil, put Nuge as one of the top six LW and get a 3rd line center. And I wouldn't have Vesey in the top six.

Also no way Ottawa does that trade. Neither player's trade value is that high.

The plan is for AA to take over 3rd line center eventually. But he is struggling on defensive play this year. Also if McDavid gets injured AGAIN or Leon gets injured we have enough centres to slide in. 2 per line.

Exactly my point- you can move nugent up to the wing and still have capable centres to fill in. If McD/Drai goes down, you can shift nuge over to play the 2C spot

First of all, why would you put Nuge in the 3rd line when he had good chemistry with Draisaitl and Nuge as 2LW?
Also, good luck getting Lias Andersson for Marody. I think a Puljujarvi for Andersson deal makes more sense.

Soderberg won’t take a 1 yr deal, and Namestikov at $4M for 3 Colorado would gladly offer that, though I think someone is going to offer him closer to $5M which I wouldn’t do.

That could easily work out with the players he has already: Soderberg could be 3C and Larsson 4C. Now, how to spend the extra $4M?
