Thing is, he still needs to play in a protected role where he can excel. In a year or two, maybe he could join that top line

When Montreal skipped over several players and drafted Kotaniemi wasn't that because they wanted a center?

Yeah but we have too many centers for now and it's not ideal to have him on the 4th line. We didn't know that Domi and Suzuki were that great at centre

You’d probably have to swap in the 2020 1st for one of the other 1st but that is a haul for Barkov.

The Avs arent trading for Paul, no fit, don’t need the contract.
