Description

I would spare no cost trying to land Barkov if Florida is serious about him being moved. Tantalizing to imagine the combinations of Scheifele-Connor and Laine-Barkov. Love Ehlers but Barkov would put the Jets to a new level.

Aleksander Barkov doesn't have a NMC, You're thinking of Jonathon Huberdeau Barkov is only 24 therefore ineligible of any NMC/NTC.

It says right here that he does.. Lol
He doesn't in 19-20 but in 20-21 he does, don't know when the date is that the NMC kicks in though.

Only relevant if they trade him before the 2020-2021 fiscal season comes in, but I honestly think he'd consider it. Goes from one of the most quiet buildings to one of the more electric. Will get plenty of opportunities while not needing to be the only guy that's called upon for tough matchups. And then Laine, a guy who complements his game really well and not to mention that they're friends.
I know Winnipeg is a tough sell to a lot of players, but I think this one could potentially work.

Yeah it does, Not sure how he's eligible for a NMC? Thought that was for only when you're a pending UFA thought you had to be a certain age before you could get NMC/NTC in your contracts. Maybe i'm wrong.

Florida would be in a rebuild if they part with Barkov, not a retool and you don’t go into a rebuild with veteran 10 million dollar goalie and a veteran coach with a limited window. So this scenario doesn’t make any sense to me.

Laine or Connor + more would be needed to get Barkov. The proposed package is an easy no from FLA.

Johansen would be kinda the measuring stick for a barkov trade, but that was a bit on potential, and barkov is more established. I just see such a big hole left behind, that tough to make the return make sense. I was thinking of trying to make a barkov/ekblad to wpg for a scheifele and potential package. But nothing really seem to make sense with a Quenneville/Bobrovsky Panthers

Close (though I think WPG adds another 1st) but I don't think Winnipeg does it for just 2 years of Barkov. No guarantee he extends.
