Barkov isnt going anywhere nor is tavares buttttt

Created by: leafs101
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 20, 2020
Published: Apr. 20, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Leafs use the selection on Drysdale (hopefully). Sabres get a very high end 1-2 punch that would put them back into contention again. Panthers get some nice futures in hopes that they can fix the money issue and make some smart draft selections and have a good team soon. Hate to do it, but if the report that they are willing to move Barkov (which essentially means anyone) is true, they will be rebuilding so may as well crank ekblad out of them too. Don't believe the report, but its fun to dream

Yeah I thought of that too. But I'd have to think that he's the kind of guy that if the team wanted him out he wouldn't force himself on them and make him keep them. Buffalo is very close to the Canadian border and he could live in small town Canada with his family if he wanted to. He's from Oakville, so he could even live in like Burlington or Hamilton and it wouldn't be that bad.

Just to add. How to the Sabres have cap for Tavares this year and the future?

I can do a separate post on fitting him in.

Buffalo isnt giving up a solid young dman and a future elite Winger for an older (Not too old) Tavares and his huge deal

If the Ottawa Senators had enough sense to not devalue a premium asset in Erik Karlsson by also dumping Bobby Ryan, I don't think The Panthers would devalue an even more valuable asset by dumping cap.

You forgot to include Huberdeau, Hoffman, and Yandle. If Florida is trading away their two best players, they might as well just get rid of everyone.

Goalies have one-off bad years all the time, and often rebound nicely. I don't think Florida is ready to give up on him after one sub-par year especially if this is the cost.

I'm working on another one with the buffalo side. It would sure be tempting. Would put fans in seats, and if buffalo loses a lot of money from corona, they might need this to get some money to be made

my point exactly. If they trade Barkov, which I don't believe they will, the premise of the deal is that they do blow it up, because giving away Barkov means rebuild. I'm not saying they would or should do it, nor am I saying the rumour is believable, but if they really hit rock bottom financially and had to rebuild, this would shed tons of money and bring in some quality futures. I agree about Bobrovsky, but this is if money forces their hand

Exactly. Sabres say no. Tavares doesn't fit their realistic timeline. Jokiharju does and this year's 1st do.
