Yeah I thought of that too. But I'd have to think that he's the kind of guy that if the team wanted him out he wouldn't force himself on them and make him keep them. Buffalo is very close to the Canadian border and he could live in small town Canada with his family if he wanted to. He's from Oakville, so he could even live in like Burlington or Hamilton and it wouldn't be that bad.

I don't see why not. He's got like 6 or 7 years left at 9 mil and you're hoping he bounces back to be a 2nd liner. But if you really don't want to, fine. The cap still works out

Why would Tavares waive at all? He's playing for the team he grew up watching. I'm not sure Toronto could trade him if they wanted to.

      Detroit isn't giving up a 3rd for a 34 year old goalie with a GAA of 3.18 and a SV% of .898.

His centers were Johansson and Mittelstadt after a year with Eichel. If they're trading for Tavares they would have the foresight of not buying out Skinner. Okposo would 100% be the CBO in any situation you can think of. Vesey isnt a top 6 forward to begin with so the logic is completely falling apart. Olofsson- Skinner with much better centers or Vesey-Olofsson. 2nd option makes little sense.

sure, I'll change that then. I personally would buy him out as he's on the books for significantly more for much longer but whatever.

Yeah but if he's scoring 40 again with Tavares no one is going to care

Buffalo says no to the Jokiharju trade. Two young pieces for an older expensive player who doesn't fit their timeline. Not happening.

I doubt he'll ever be a 40 goal guy again. You're HOPING tavares can get him to be a 25g/50pt guy, that'd be a huge improvement, and isn't even guaranteed

based on what. He's relied on a set up man his whole career. With Eichel 40 goals, with Johansson and Sobotka, 14. I think we solved the riddle. Skinners play didnt drop off but he was asked to carry a terrible line, which is not his forte to start. His TOI dropped and his PP time was halved, both due to the emergence of Olofsson, so theirs no real question why his stats dropped off.
