laugh laugh shakes head Help Not even close for Larkin, We don't need Liljegren with Hronek,Seider and Lindstron at RD plus we could draft Jamie Drysdale as well. This is pure trash for our future Captain and we retain half of his salary as well. I've seen them all and this is definitely the worst trade proposal ever. Don't even think of other teams needs just put out your trash. And this is a trash offer both Hronek and Seider are country miles ahead of Timothy Liljegren so no thanks.

Classic leafs post as in underpaying for another team's core player/future franchise player possibly.

Your franchise player comes in this years draft hopefully. Larkin is like Kadri and is a 2c/3c in your future when your rebuild is done....

Detroit offers Justin Abdelkader+Frans Nielsen+Gustav Lindstrom for Auston Matthews yeah that's just how pathetic your offer truly is.

So your trash offer doesn't get you Larkin at full value let alone eating 50% of his contract. Larkins value is every bit the same as Nylander and you sure as hell wouldn't deal Nylander for your proposal. Larkin is signed to a sweet deal he easily could've commanded about $8 million per long term. And Robertson is a joke we don't want him or need him same with Liljegren as we're set for the foreseeable future at RD. if you're going to honestly try and make an attempt for someone at least know the other teams needs before making yourself look foolish.

Detroit should trade him now.... If they wait he starts to lose ice time to younger players. His value is peaking right now. I know he is still young but he is not a franchise player. He is like a young kadri.

Thought Weeger might cost a little more so you are probably right.

Hainsey is insurance on the right side.

Why did he take a discount when detroit has tons of cap space?

3 reasons. One he was still an RFA without arbitration rights, no leverage. Two he understands that Wings are rebuilding and if 6 million is a discount then my friend the 3rd reason is why Leafs are in the situation they are in right now. Nylander, Matthews and Marner all asked for and got top dollar as RFA and with out arbitration rights and got it. Most leaf fans have said all 3 players are overpaid, Marner by 2 to 3 million, Nylander by 1 to 2 million and Matthews by one to two million.

You say he should be traded before he gets older, holy crap he is 23. If it takes 3 to 4 years to get back to the playoffs he will only be 26 or 27. What the hell are you talking about. Both players you offered have not played on game in the NHL and may not turn out to be a anything but marginal at best.

You have way overvalued you prospects for a solid NHL player who is playing for his home team and is probably the best player on his team.

Federov was a 2C and see what he turned into. The trade is bad and then you want retention. This is just bad.

What is it with trading tons of specs for another elite player that the leafs REALLY don’t necessarily need. You adjust the bottom 6 and D, not the top 6 unless you’re upgrading on someone for a good price. Detroit loses that trade and at the cost of the leafs future like everyone likes to do

How is that he has never played a game in the NHL. You have to understand Larkin is 23, and if we keep trading our good young players for prospects we will be rebuilding forever. 3 years down the road, if Robertson turns out to a good player are you going to propose another trade and say here is a prospect for your rebuild for Robertson? Wings are not turning into a minor league affiliate for the Leafs.

Leafs have no need for Larkin even though he is a wonderful player. Every wing fan would say the same thing. This deal makes no sense for either team also redwings trading Larkin would be like the Leafs trading Marner so obviously thats never going to happen. Kerfoot is close to simialr value to Stall its not 2010 anymore folks. I bet Minnesota does a straight up stall for kerfoot and laughs all the way through that great value contract while watching stall head for retirement. The one deal that makes a little sense is the Dallas deal and only because both players have a bug question mark beside them. How much does Dallas vale Honka also how much does the Leafs Value Bracco? Clearly both teams still see value in them or they would have been delt long ago

Agreed Larkin is 23 not 31. Although the 2/ 3 prospects are great NHL prospects its just not a deal either team needs or wants to make. Leafs do not need a Larkin type player as they have their core and Redwings need Larkin type players because they dont have their future core. This might be a starting point for a player of Manthas value but even then it goes back to my same point neither team needs to be moving these types of players. Redwings need to keep their young stars and leafs need good players on entry level deals

Exactly could've have said it better myself, Detroit's in no position to be dealing Larkin. He'll be in his late 20's by the time we become competitive again. Some of these so called fans act like it's the end of he world. Detroit through this years draft should be able to draft some quality players. Hopefully starting with Alexis Lafreniere.
