At this rate he might have a chance at being the Canadiens future starter with how Carey Price is playing.

Eric Engels reported they are still in the hunt for a Veteran Backup. Demchenko signed a two-way minimum salary contract meaning he could be headed to Laval to start the season.

Talented goalie, but he had a pretty bad season this year so this signing is surprising a bit. I think he will start in the AHL but i hope that his gonna play some NHL games.

Teams he played for were awful, but he will likely start the season in the AHL

Emergency goalie is enough to win against the leaf anyway

If he plays in the NHL next season the Habs have bigger problems haha

Interesting. I assume the habs see him as a legitimate candidate for the backup job, and it will be interesting to see him compete with Primeau/Lindgren/maybe someone else for the backup job in training camp.

Not necessarily. He played on a terrible KHL team and still put up decent numbers.

I just meant that the injuries might have to really pile up before he gets a sustained shot as the starter. Ideally, he plays 40+ games in Laval and lights it up. I still think Cayden Primeau has the inside track as Price's backup, but with Goalies, anything can happen. Who'd have ever thought Elvis would emerge as the Columbus #1 this season?
