Nylander for Jones is the max Toronto is willing to offer.

Columbus declines. Nylander isn’t enough for Jones. The of the players involved are meh and kinda useless to Columbus. The 2nd would get you Anderson.

Jones would costed Marner, on Nylanders contract.... that’s about the only way Columbus moves Jones.

Why are there so many Jones to Toronto trades? Unless someone is massively overpaying we are not trading him.

Because their RHD depth sucks... so their feel the need to get a great RHD, like Seth Jones. Problem is, they have no idea how much Seth Jones is really worth... If you think that Jones trade is bad, get a load of the Ekblad trade...

The ekblad trade is because they have to pay out over 40 million dollars for them because Florida is broke as hell

The cost for Toronto to buy out Bob is more like Noel Serron and a pick not Ekblad

Really the post is kinda horrid for the Leafs, Yea they get Ekblad and Jones, but at the cost of five NHL regulars, 47m in CBO costs and it's still a 20 man roster and no cap. In what world does this work?
Gag at the thought that a lineup with Robertson, Barbanov, Agnostino and Rosen are is acceptable.
No other team or CapFriendly followers of other teams really think Jones is worth all that much. But somehow they put up this false facade that he gonna be the big difference maker with the Leafs.

Lecavalier was 30M when Toronto was going to buy him out, It wasnt going to cost them Stamkos. 30M was a higher amount 7 years ago too. Also its 40M across 12 years and Toronto makes over 100M per season

That was not about money that was about trying to get the player at a lower cap hit. Florida needs it because they have no money. The fact that Toronto makes so much only matters in the sense that there are only a few teams that can afford to do it.

If Florida didn't think they could pay Bob's contract they wouldn't have signed it. Your logic here is that the rich are going to force the poor into making a bad trade because the rich have more money.

The NHL is looking at losing over a billion dollars because of the shutdown. There is no way Florida saw that coming when they signed him. They have already said they need to cut 10 million before this happened.
