What does Nashville need with another defenseman? Ellis, Josi, Ekholm and Fabbro are a pretty good top 4

This is a problem everyone keeps having that I don't understand. Pulock is a free agent. He has no value. People keep ignoring 2020 contracts expiring. There is no contract there when trades can be made. This deal is just Ladd and signing rights.

You're joking aren't you? UFA may have no trade value but RFAs do.

I'm saying singing rights mean so much less and people keep seeing 2020 contracts as having one year left. Pulock isn't someone Nashville would be looking at without knowing a number so this deal is illogical. Yes RFA's have value but this deal is clearly acting like Pulock has 1 year left. As are most trades that people put up here with people on expiring deals. RFA or UFA.

Islanders aren't trading Toews, Pulock, Pelech, or Dobson for the foreseeable future.

Sure, RFA, has "some value" but nobody on here acts like an RFA is less value than a guy with term. I didn't feel like doing a paragraph on expiring contracts but I guess I'm losing people on semantics.
