How about Kyle Connor instead of Ehlers? and replace Copp with a decent prospect or something

I wouldn't trade this year's 1st unless it's for a bonafide 2C. If it was next year's 1st I would consider it. I just don't think Winnipeg is a good trade partner for a big deal like this.
As for the second trade I don't mind it, but this leaves Minnesota with 1 true LD.

That's a solid top 6. I'd move Copp up to either center or wing on line 3 amd move Thompson down or to the bench with Lazar centering line 4.

Biggest problem other than Winnipeg probably saying no: extending Dahlin, Jokiharju, and Brodin all for next year. Looking at 2 bridge deals probably.
