tbh, you could get more than 4th for McCabe probably.

But even with the 4th, you're not getting a 1st for Risto, and I don't think Vegas takes that deal, nor do the devils or Isles.

Buff is in a tough spot...

Throwing spinners contract away isn't free. If sorokin wants to get a starter role, buffalo isn't the place to go

i think they do it because it could be a 2nd coming back the next year. not a strong team in ana yet so being -15 is high chance.

ok what team has a better shot at letting him be starter. ullmark is a b option in a good tandem and hutton looks like ahl guy this year.

Actually, I would say if your Sorokin, Buffalo is exactly where you wanna go. They need an upgrade over Carter Hutton and Ullmark still has a lot to prove. Is he a guy who will start 50-60 games, win 35-40games? We don’t know yet. There is an opportunity to win the starting goalie job if Ullmark gets outplayed

He said starter. Not tandom. His job is gonna get taken by pekka lehkonen in a few years so why would he bother? He can just go to another team

Pretty much everything about this is wrong starting with you thinking the Sabres will have a new GM.

UPL is a few years away yes but if Sorokin is a stud UPL could be nice trade piece for future.

Maybe but it won't be from Detroit because he has one year left on his contract. With the season Detroit has had there is a good chance he only stays in Detroit for a season. So I think a 4th is probably the most Detroit would give up.

Sorokin has a clear path to be the starter. The islanders literally signed his good friend to make the transition to NA easier for him.

I dont hate him i hate his agent and botts lack of thinking
i hope he steps up and plays well. if he was 8 years at 7.5 i wouldn't even think of trading him after a bad year

I actually can see the vegas trade. Depending on the gm, i can absolutely see somebody looking at reinhart and montour- deciding that 12-13 million between them for several years isnt where they want to be, and trading for a futures package. If you think about some of the recent stuff about the pegulas, as a new gm i would want payroll flexibility here.

lol Anaheim isn't trading for anyone signed short term, they're in a rebuild right now. And they're certainly not trading picks lol.
