DeMelo either takes more money or takes the same AAV on a 1 or 2 year deal so he can get paid after the coronavirus stuff

Beagle's contract is frontloaded. He makes $2.2M per year on the last two years of the deal. Hickey makes $2.5M, so the Isles save $600K.

I see Demelo signing a deal similar to the one Nicklas Jensen got ($2.5M per year). Marco Scandella, who is a better defenseman than him, just signed for $3.25M per year.

Best comment....this year's UFA's (including Petro) will sign for short term deals with knowledge that the cap will freeze or slowly increase over the next 2 years. But by 2023 season with the pandemic over and cash recovered and Seattle playing, the cap will go up towards $90 million.
