Montreal already have Tatar, Drouin, Lehkonen, Byron and Domi who can play on the left wing. Acquiring Johnsson would not make sense at all. Kapanen would be the one to consider here from Habs point of view.

The Leafs just have to be better. Actually the Leafs showed a lot "grit" last year that few recognize. They were buried out of playoffs until they fired the worse coach in the NHL....and then recovered in be in a playoff position. There top two Dmen were LTIR...Reilly and Muzzin.....Dermot too. Tavares, Marner and Andersson were missed games. So I don't why folks feel the current edition of the Leafs "lack grit"

If you want tougher, don't know how a 160 pound junior Robertson answers that question. Charitot for Dermot I wouldn't do as a trade and then you put Chariot on his off side. Jenner just isn't a good offensive centre and you need your 3C to have offensive skills. He's more of a third line winger.

I'd take Jenner over Kerfoot everyday of the week (IF it's a healthy Boone).

If Robertson plays like Marner in training camp let him play, I recall Marner was a long shot for making the team and thought to be sent to finish his Jr. career because of his lack of size.

By your Jenner is so much better than Kerfoot logic, why does CBJ do the deal. You know training camp mean practically nothing. Teams are 1/3 NHLers, 1/3 AHLer and 1/3 juniors, and PTOs. Leafs fans seems really fascinating by junior or AHL stats. Bracco as an example. Realistically does Robertson make the team, and the post was based on making the the Leafs grittier and tougher....does Robertson fit the bill?

Yes Robertson is not grittier. But you can not argue that Marner surprised everyone in his rookie season and that was all due to having a great camp.

BJ's don't trade Jenner. Ever. Torts loves him.

I'm a Leaf fan. Would love nothing better than Robertson being a good NHLer starting in October. But logic says he doesn't.

Gotta say Leaf fans - all the lip-service or talk in the world over "Boone this n that" is nonsensical when the Cap $$ is tapped out at 20-players above ^ ^ ^ !

This is 100% a FATAL FLAW.

I know that minor league guys can be shifted daily up/down from RICOH. And 12th-over-all-in league standings by points (not % that's less than 12th) is uber-impressive - But - when injuries-suspensions multiply, as w/ TML last year, and not-ready for prime time KIDS are called up 5 or 6 or 7 men deep - that only leads to losses (not wins), or middle-of-the-pack standings (not banner titles) and ultimately firings by, and of, the MLSE brass...

Not gritty enough. TOR needs to trade sawft William Nylander for grit and sandpaper F/D combo package Brendan Smith. It even saves the Leafs some cap space

Columbus declines, Jenner is loved in Columbus by everyone. GM, Coach, fans and teammates. He was also our 2nd line center most of last year.
