Hall played with a pretty bad coaching staff and a bad management, this guy wasn't even free to make moves.
But Think of having three scoring lines then:

Anthanasiou-McDavid-Kassian
RNH-Draisaitl-Yamamoto
Hall-Sheahan-Chiasson
Benson-Khaira-Archibald

Then please don’t expect to sign Hall with McJesus and Draisatl and expect to contend. Just look at the Leafs, with their big 3 albatross salaries. Good luck with that. Your money would be better invested in Defence and Goaltending imo.

‪I don’t see what makes Taylor Hall such a special player. Throughout his career, he’s been a below replacement level player at best. Look at his stats, he doesn’t impact the play at all. The only season he played decent was in 2017/18 when he got carried by Kyle Palmieri. He doesn’t have what it takes to drive his own line, let alone lead the entire team. Sure he plays physical, but so does Corey Perry, that doesn’t make him good. Honestly, I don’t understand what in the world he’s done to earn a deal in the 9-11 million dollar range. He sucks. ‬

I get your point but the NHL doesn't just throw around a Hart trophy for no reason. He was voted above MacKinnon and he was a large impact player. Plus, I enjoy getting 1st overall picks while he's around considering Shane Wright and Connor Bedard are coming around

Wrong. They only played together for 75 minutes (at 5v5) but posted a very strong 67.63 xGF% in that time. Apart they both posted about 53 xGF% that year.

This will make it pretty difficult to sign Nuge next summer, as Yamamoto also needs a new contract.

A hart trophy winner with two mediocre 4th liners? Yikes...

Doesn't that made it an elite 3rd line. Like Pitts put Kessel on the third line. Chiasson isn't mediocre when he's the only guy that scores goals in the bottom 6

I watched them play on the same line. It was brutal. Hall without McDavid was a top 10 scorer in the NHL. Without him, he completely disappeared and slipped down to the 20th-30th range. Why?They are both puck carriers. Also, hall is a dick and I wouldn't want the locker room chemistry messed up.

Getting a 1st overall pick would imply we piss off McDavid's career and play bad. No thanks
