I'd rather CHI keep the picks from the VAN trade and sign someone like Halak or Khudobin for Sutter's cap hit.

For the Maatta trade I'd rather just retain less money and drop the 2021 3rd

Agreed. Talbot would be perfect as a backup in my mind. Sell it to him that Crow has an injury history and heck...he may even become the starter if heaven forbid that happens. BUT Crow is the 1st priority. He was the NHL's best HDGSAA which is a big deal for the hawks considering the defense was terrible. He's still an outstanding goalie that I'd put against any goalie in the NHL. He can't play as many games per season, but he's really good.
