Goalie and D Upgrade

Created by: AlwaysBeleaf1919
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 28, 2020
Published: Apr. 28, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Though I love Freddy, with his contract expiring soon and with the poor season he had, I wanted to experiment with a trade involving him. The Hawks could definitely use a goalie like Freddy and they could probably re-sign him as well. They also could use a young D-Man and a middle-six winger.

I've lost track of A. Nylander's value, so if it is more or less than what I'm giving them, let me know in the comments and I'll make an edit.

Lehner is gonna want more money. Also why would you trade Kapanen for a depth defenseman and a second?

Lehner isn’t signing that or coming to Toronto. The pressure is more than he can probably handle. He needs a bit of a quieter fan base

in truth anderson is not a bad goalie. I dont see the need for lehner. Anderson finally got a good backup since McELHINNEY. On top of that the reason he had bad numbers this year, our defense got worse. He has been the mvp through multiple games and has good relations with the majority of the team so I see him staying till he is a UFA. With proper rest that campbell can provide anderson will be well rested for next seasons playoffs. And who knows he and campbell could be top 10 goalie duo next season if campbell can get into his 2018-2019 numbers. even if he cant his current numbers have not been that bad.

I agree that people are overreacting and that he is a very good goalie. One season doesn't define what kind of goalie he is and our defence has been awful. I definitely don't want to see him go. I just wanted to see what I could do to get a guy like Lehner and use Freddy to acquire a piece from a team that needs goaltending. Overall though, I completely agree with what you're saying.
