Getting it Dunn in Quarentine

Team: 2020-21 New Jersey Devils
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 26, 2020
Published: Apr. 28, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know the value could be way off on the STL trade. If you have constructive criticism or a counter offer, I’m all ears. If you’re going to leave an “easily declines/hangs up the phone” comment, keep it moving. Just trying to gauge values and see how other non NJ fans see things (because I’m obviously bias).

I figured McLeod, Butch, and a higher pick might be enough to get Dunn, and NJ could ask for a later round pick to take on Steen’s cap hit. This is, of course, if STL wants to resign Pietrangelo, and they would replacing Dunn with a cheaper option in Butcher.

I would hope NJ dips into the European pool and snag Suter, especially because he’s played on a team with Nico before. But, I know Chicago and the Isles are interested, and it may take more money.

Maybe if the Blues get the Arizona pick I would consider it, but he’s gonna be cheap on his next contract and is very very good. Trading him would be so dumb on our part.

The Wood trade isn't worth it, I'd rather have him.
Albeit the version of him when he fought Simmonds etc
Not post suspension him, that guy sucks

That’s understandable. I would be willing to part with Vancouver’s pick, but I’d want to keep Arizona’s, unless NJ wins the lottery.

I probably should have covered that trade as well. That’s essentially for anyone who would want him in exchange for a mid round pick. I think any one of the younger guys like Boqvist/Anderson/Merkley can out produce him. His physical side is a plus, but that’s all but gone away this season.

Nope. And not because there's no way Steen waives for New Jersey, even if that's obviously the case.

I completely forgot about his NTC. I’ll hold this L.

Yeah I think the coaching staff came down too hard on him after he got suspended. We are a bit light, I like his sandpaper when its there

I could see Steen waiving his NTC for NJ if the Devils agree to buy Steen out immediately. That way Steen could still gets 2/3 of his remaining contract, possibly resigns with STL, and, if so, help them save cap space. It just depends on how much NJ would want for eating that contract.
