Total agree, I think anything more than 3 million they will have seriously consider taking the compensation for due their cap restraints.

Was pissed the day the kings traded cernak for a goalie they did NOT NEED!! Budaj was a fine back up but Noooo, they wanted Bishop. Just seeing the trades for him now is infuriating to me!

No to the rangers trade, the nashville trade is ok, and the edmonton trade alright. As for Cernak I don't see us offersheeting him we will probs trade for him. In general though I see dubas doing significantly better moves as that kapanen trade is just brutal for us

Make 3 trades and Cernak has to, you know, actually want to leave Tampa as well. Cernak will get traded before that if JBB feels like he can't make it work, but he will. Cernak should come in somewhere between 2 and 2.5 at the high end. It will be great once Cirelli, Serg and likely Cernak sign their bridges to watch ppl that don't understand Tampa's structure lose their minds(again) as to how they were able to keep all their rfa's(again).

I'd hate to lose his versatility and cheap contract, but if that's the price, I'd quickly change my mind.

I had to make 2 trades to cover the Cernak OS, Tampa's gonna offer between 6/7 million over 3 years I'm offering 16 million over 4 years ya he likes Tampa but TO is pretty good to play in good to great team and 10 million more dollars - That's a little tough to turn down.

Trade values are low - I also pulled a prick move and signed an RFA and now have to make space - I'd be content sending Kapenen for a late 1st or a 2nd and a 3rd to a Calgary

And yet the rfa's in Tampa always take less to stay. Cernak is well aware of how the Lightning run their contracts and sure he gets closer to the 7.5 range for 3 years but still stays on a better contender, better taxes, not get hounded by the Toronto fans and media constantly, and the weather is also a bit nicer in January in Tampa than in Toronto. If all he cares about is the extra term and $, Tampa can work out longer term if JBB feels that's the best option, but a 3 year bridge is 95% what's likely to happen, then he'll get paid nicely if he continues to improve. I'll believe Toronto pulls these trades off and Cernak takes the OS when I see it. Until then, I'll trust JBB and the Lightning organization to continue getting things done in these matters.
